The next step beyond threats of physical violence is physical violence itself. I hope it does not have to come to that to make us realize that people like this have no place here.

People who are capable of making written threats against a person's family might be capable of all kinds of things; showing up at your doorstep with a weapon, sending cigars laced with something nasty, reporting individual's purchasing habits to authorities, and so forth. We trust each other too much to have this kind of variable in play.
