No cigars or alcohol for me this week (and potentially longer) as my wife and i are hitting the gym and diet hard for a 6 week period to shed some of this good life living fat, we both wanna lose 10 lbs. And the cigars??? I've been smoking one a day, and i feel i need to cut back to 3/week, starting w/ a week of Nada (well, maybe Mon-Thurs). I plan to get back to my 3 drinks a week program somewhere in this 6 week period. Moderation isn't something i find easy to do... Wish me luck (and i got 2 boxes of Anejos coming in this week, that'll be a test or willpower

Best of luck Frank. If you need somewhere to store those Anejos, I mean just so you're not tempted, I have an extra pound of 65% beads and can always buy another small cooler...I mean just to keep them safe. :whistling:

And any of those other cigars u wanna get rid of can be directed my way. ;) Good luck w/ the workout routine, i started again lately just because i've been alot lazier. Everything has been smooth sofar except for running..... :whistling:

it ain't funny

I send my best wishes. Remember when we were 18 years old when we did not have to worry about gaining weight or reading nutrition labels on the back of products?? Break a leg, buddy!!

Doing the same thing myself, but I need to drop more like 25 lbs. I figure if I can lay off the cigars, which of course has to have booze to go with it, that will account for a lot of my loss.

Good luck!

Ken

A very wise person once told me that one doesn't become satisfied with the body God gave you untill you reach the age of 50 or so. She was right. Their are advatages to getting old.

Doc.

In light of Gator working at the gym, I could not resist posting this picture. I think this gym may supply some motivationg (or not) to work out. Working Out Good luck!! :whistling:

Best of luck on this second go-round. You know where to send things if you have too ;)

Good luck, cutting back on the gars may not be a bad idea but tobacco dose have appetite suppressant properties. As for drinking, well it significantly hinders weight loss.

Good luck Gator...

When I turned 40 I realized I had to change my ways or I would be dead of heart problems.
It took my dad in his early 60's and I did not want to end up the same way.

It's all about life style changes and everything in moderation (except exercise :D ).

If you want to be successful with this, you need to get out of your head that you'll stay on track for 6 weeks lose weight and then be good. Its a lifestyle change man. You might lose 10 pounds, but if you don't watch it after the 6 weeks, you'll probably just put 15 back on.

Its something you have to do all the time.....and to lose weight and keep it off, figure on about 1 lb a week with better food intake, and some exercise.

Gator, this is not something you can do for 6 weeks, then stop and expect to keep the weight off.
Eating better and regular exercise is something that you will have to do from now on.
Unless you make some life style changes, you will just gain it all back again (and then some).
Sorry man, but there is no quick fix.

Oh yeah, 6 months ago i was working out every day, eating good, replacing fat w/ muscle, then i blew my ankle out (still hurts) and that resulted in my back being out of whack for awhile. During this time, i started getting lax again on eating habits, and never got back in the groove of working out. We're just having a little competition for 6 weeks to see who hits their target. I'm not really that much over weight, i'm right at 20% bf, i wanna get it to 15%, then probably 12%. I figured i'd cut out the booze for a bit for calorie reduction, and just to get out of the groove of a drink a day, easy for me to fall into that rut, then one a day leads to 2....

The easy part of this is we have a home gym, that's much easier than going to a gym everyday
