REM was the first band that I only had CD's of. No vinyl at all until I bought the Chronic Town EP in the early 90's a decade after it was released, The last album was pretty good too after a few not-so-good ones and I was hoping they would improve yet again for the next one. It's not the end of the world as we know it but I feel a little sad..

Got to give them credit; sometimes knowing when it's time to walk away is harder and better than running it into the ground.......

I saw this the other day. My 8 year old saw me reading the article, and asked me who they were. Got out some CDs and let him take them for a spin.
He then went on to youtube, and watched some videos. He liked the music. I always liked the intent that Stipe conveyed. I hope he continues to perform.

I heard this on a radio station from Houston. I listened to a song of theirs for 72 hours straight and no other song. It was after a brutal 2 week rotation in the field at Ft Hood. They have been together a long time and all good things must come to an end at some point.

Thought they broke up years ago. I thought this album was an attempt at rekindlling something. It just didn't catch on.

They were a great band. I still think they're better than U2. It's an argument I have about 1 or 2 times a year with a friend of mine. We've never been able to change the others' mind even after 22 years of arguing about it.

They are better than U2. :D

Went to Univ of Georgia from 82-85 and got to see them in those early days in local clubs - and then 3 years later in huge arena. Always fun.
