The Fantasy Football Discussion Thread

You know football season is about to begin when you start to see several different fantasy football threads pop up. Since there are obviously several CP members who are involved in fantasy football, how about we get all the discussions in the same thread to keep from cluttering up the board. So if you've got a "Who should I start?" question, or a "Rate my team" thread in mind, post it here.

I'll start:

I've got a WR decision to make for week 1 (non-PPR league). Vincent Jackson vs. Chicago, or D.J. Hackett vs. Tampa Bay? I think Jackson is the better receiver, but he's going against a much stiffer defense than Hackett is facing. Opinions?

I think you go with Jackson. Chicago will have 8 men in the box trying to contain Tomlinson and they'll have a corner on Gates, so I think he puts up better numbers.

i love v. jackson, but i think id have to go with hackett. seattle will put up alot more points than sd so to me its a matter or probability.

i think in all reality, there numbers wont be different enough to win or lose your entire team for the week.

Ok then, let me throw in this wrinkle: The position in question is a WR/RB flex position, so I could start Ladell Betts instead. The reason I'm hesitant to do that is because I'm not sure how many carries he'll get now that Portis is healthy. I think I'd be better off going with a receiver, at least for Week 1

I am thinking I would go with Hackett against the Bucs. The Bucs are in a rebuilding year with their defense. Kippen generally can do wonders with his defense, but I don't see it this year, especially against Seattle. JMHO

Start a WR not the RB. Either WR will be fine, IMO I think they will push.....

now to thread jack a bit....

In my other FF thread, I was asking about my WR....going with the AZ WR and Moss this week....
I cut Trotter of my D because he was not on a team, and the day after he signs.......I hate to lose a trade.....

We had our auction for our keeper league last night, and this is what I ended up with. Brady, Green, LJ, A. Johnson, and Holt were my keepers. We draft college/high school players every year, and when they get drafted you can have them for $1, that's how I got Lynch.

Now for the question. Which back do I start other than LJ week 1? I'm leaning toward Edge at the moment.

In my book you start Edge. Green puts the ball on the ground too much, and Williams is an unknown, esp after last season
