The flag & taxes

A visitor from Holland was chatting with his American friend and was jokingly explaining about the red, white and blue in the Netherlands flag. "Our flag symbolizes our taxes," he said. "We get red when we talk about them, white when we get our tax bill, and blue after we pay them."

"That's the same with us," the American said, "only we see stars, too."

Just thought I would post this since tax season is upon us. I just received statements from my employer a few days ago. H. & R. Block(heads) here we come.

Oh never mind, you have to have an income in order to qualify to pay taxes, right? :laugh:

well the one plus side to being an econ maj. is I don't mind taxes.
actually kind of fun to fill them out.

of course I don't make enough to pay any so I get a refund.
which then goes into school anyway.

I can't say that we fill out our taxes since we go to H.& R. Block. I do drink the free coffee that they have though. On the topic of taxes, I do get a lot of amusement out of the tax protester movement. I in particular love the ones that argue that the wording of tax laws in certain parts makes it voluntary. They then get nailed in the court system and then serve time. Some of their websites are just grand to check out as well. I visit a few whenever I'm bored and need entertainment.
