Man, I pored over that big glossy cigar catalog for half an hour. It was just like when the neighbor kid brought one of his dad’s Playboys over when his parents were out. I’m definitely getting old and boring!

I remember when it was hard to get porn.

Those were better days. There was more of a reverence then.

Actually, the Instagram bikini girls are much better than porn. It leaves something for your imagination to fill in. Ah, for the good old days. Heck, until the neighbor kid brought over the Playboy when I was 12, I was flipping through the women’s underwear section in the Sears catalog.

By 1983 I was out of college, but about a decade earlier I was all over those catalogs! lol

I ordered the Perdomo ashtray off their website, not from a store. That's why I got the glossy catalog. I'm gonna look for other brands I like and see if they sell ashtrays directly. I could collect more catalogs, maybe.

Sad that at this point in my life I'm more interested in cigar catalogs than lingerie catalogs!

Not finding ashtrays at the cigar sites, but I came across this video of the history of Padron. Believe it or not, I've never had a Padron cigar. I'm going to remedy that posthaste.

Thank you for posting that. There is a lot of good stuff there besides the cigar story in the first vid.

I think he was the same age as my dad wo doing a rewind. Those people grew up in a different world.

JC, I thought you were a cool dude. NO Padron yet. Going to contact Rod and see if there is any legal action I can take. Personally, try the 2-3000 series depending on preferred ring gauge. The 1000-7000 series are all the same blend. Then it gets hairy, either the '64 or the '26. If you don't care for them, if there' really yucky, drop me a line, I have been know to consume a few.

while not my first or 2nd cigar, Padron Classic (the thousands line) was in the first 10 cigars I smoked, and maybe one of the first I smoked several of when I first started out. I have always liked a Perfecto/Torpedo/Belicoso shape, and the 6000 is a constant, consistent performer for me.

I am sort of an outlier I think in that I prefer the Natural wrapper; it is a simple Sungrown Nic leaf, but over the past year or so I am starting to lean into Maduro wrappers a bit more, until now I have never really been a fan.

I think it's because I was never on a cigar forum. All I knew was what friends smoked or recommended. This place has made me aware of how much bigger the cigar world is than I ever imagined.

Anyway, a fiver of 5000 and a gift box of 1964 Natural is inbound.

I may buy a Padron ashtray on FleaBay in atonement for my sins.

I have found Padron cigars to be incredibly consistent in addition to being high quality. When my friend came to visit we went to my local B&M with a walk in and lounge and I walked him to that section and said you can buy anything in this section and you will be GTG. And he did. I cant recall which now. Maybe a 64.

My only fault with them, if you can even call it that, is Im not a huge fan of a box press.
