Although the episode was shocking, they've almost squared things with the comics. The exception being Daryl, though it seems like they are using him similarly to Coral in the comics.

I used to root for Tom in the Tom and Jerry cartoons, that's about as far as I'm willing to go rooting for the bad guy. Seek help Scap.

Not really. I view him as a sympathetic pawn in Acme's proxy war on the roadrunner. I'm not a big fan of the military industrial complex and I've protested in front of Acme's Rocket Shoes Outlet store on several occasions.

If you skim through the comic narrative (which is years ahead of the show) you can see a number of elements being put in place in the show, though it's hard to know what is or isn't a smokescreen. They're playing it close to the vest.

I was really upset with the long drawn out cliff hanger at the end of last season, now to find out they killed off 2 makes it even more frustrating.
Picture this:
Last seasons ends with the "Suck my NUTZ" from Abe, this season picks up with the rest of the beating, everyone thinks things are good to go...then GLENN GETS HIS...boom...much more impact I think.
