Bah! Received the Culebras and it looks like an elephant sat on the box. I'm sending them back in hopes that the shop will send me a new box. Pass postponed until further notice :( In the best interest of peculiarity, I'm putting on a very special micro-pass...well, it's actually more of a hand off.

I picked up a box of Davidoff Culebras and am going to use ten of them for this pass. Not familiar w/ Culebras? Here's a link:

They go for about $25 a piece.

At-any rate, the principle of the pass is simple. You take a culebra and you put something of equal freakishness and value in its place. Your freak can be a Between the Lines, a Diadema, a Sosa Bat (I wish), a Salomone, Pyramid, Torpedo, Fuma, stuff over eight inches in length, or any other weird shape. The catch is that it can't be another culebra. If you feel that your freak isn't equal in value to mine, just throw something else in there to even the deal. This one doesn't have to be a weirdo. Please note that my ultimate goal is to end up w/ a bunch of strange sticks of comparable value to the culebra though.
One thing to pay attention to is what is already in the pass when it gets to you. Try not to duplicate too many puts, if possible.

I assume the format and specific requirements of this pass will weed out newer folks, but just in case: If you have never participated in a pass you must provide a reference from a CP'er who is of good standing.

Same old stuff on all other aspects of this thing: Quick turn around, pack well, don't rub your manhood on others' cigars trying to mark your territory, etc.

PS- If we don't quite reach ten participants we'll run it lean...but not too lean :)

Couple basic questions:

1) What's the approx. value of this thing? I had no idea - and I have lot's of goofy things to choose from, and want to choose appropriately.

2) How do these come packaged? Were all 10 in a single box of some kind? Is each in its own box?

Also, on the off-chance that 10 people don't sign up in the end - I'd be happy to trade for two (one to smoke and one to save). One is fine as well - but just thought I'd mention it...

1. The approx. value is $25

2. I'm not entirely sure how they come packaged, but will let you know shortly. When sold individually they come in coffins. If they are loose, I will put each one in an individual plastic bag and put some packing material between the bagged sticks.

I'd love to get ahold of that cigar and I have an egg coming. BUT- an egg is not even close to comparing to what you have to offer. I just picked one up on cigarbid for $6. At most it is worth $10. ???

Valid concern. If you just can't come up w/ something of approx. equal value do this: Put your $10 whatever in and toss a nice smoking something or other in as well.

That said, I would definitely prefer a one-to-one ratio on the take/put. My intent is to end up w/ a diverse selection of freaks of comparable value, not a butt load of cigars.
