ThrillafromManilla...

Sad if he has endured the loss and if so he has my condolences also. The thing about dealing with people on the internet is that you only have their history of participation to judge them by. While its entirely possibly for a catastrophic event such as losing a family member to happen, considering his past conduct, its suspect. Nothing more. Not sure how anyone, on the internet that is, would not expect it to be questioned. I would be first in line to express sypathy but in the age of the internet, sadly, it requires proof.

I found it funny that he decided to ask me to stop playing god on his for sale thread when all I asked him was if he would ship first. I have never had any interaction with this guy previously... I don't think we've ever posted on the same thread before. His slant on me being from CP, so I was a bad person, was to simply round up the wagons around him which the newbs did. I found it even more remarkable that one of the newbs that question my low post count had just signed up a few months ago and had thousands of posts already. I'm sure his contributions of substance is substantial.

My intent was to get an actual list of the cigars, determine value and have an opportunity to inspect them. I would have been glad to buy most of them at a reduced price but have no interest to allow a sale be decided by someone other than myself determining quality/condition. He made it easy to walk away......

Edited to add: he gives the cigar count for this lot at 250-275 yet the list of cigars he posted only added up to 170-175.

The difference between CigarPass and ClubStogie is as clear as night and day.

Here's what the site owner of ClubStogie (pds) posted in this scammer's thread on October 19, 2007 over on ClubStogie:

There have been numerous comments to moderators pertaining to this thread.

I believe it is important for all involved to realize that you buy at your own risk in these forums, and the moderators of Club Stogie can in no way verify the intentions, good or bad, of people selling here.

I would also like to stress the importance of adding trader ratings when you conduct a transaction, successfully or unsuccessfully. It is the best way to relay your experience to other BOTL's.

Here's what Rod posted FIVE DAYS EARLIER on October 13th:

Sale posted: 10-10-2007, 08:09 PM

Entire lot sold: 10-13-2007, 08:04 AM

So manila boys "apology" holds zero validity. Tries to use our community, says he's sorry, so he goes and uses another community. What a shame - selling cigars is one thing, but to sell cigars that someone sold him really cheap (to be nice) is another thing. Manila boy summed it up quite well - "douchebag".

Banned.

Same exact situation with this scumbag and he's handled completely differently by two separate site owners. What's even more ridiculous is that his shenanigans here weren't anywhere as near obvious as they are over yonder.....

Yep "trader rating" system, now THAT will solve EVERYTHING!

Hey Allofus.

This is a newb over at ClubStogie (Khubli). I've been following this thread over here since all this blew up late last week. I do want to apologize to you over here because I did not know what your intentions were when you originally posted about shipping first. I made a bad assumption and got a bit snappy with you. That's just bad behavior on my part.

There had been several posts on Thrilla's thread regarding his intentions and behavior over here. I really do appreciate the effort to warn other people of suspect behavior when it comes to possible dealings for a considerable amount of money. Flipping cigars for a profit on cigars that were gifted or sold at a reduced rate in earnest does not sit well with me. After all the warnings from many that posted in this thread, it looked like your post was to throw a few jabs at Thrilla.

I rarely post over here and have not been around on this board for much time at all. I see resentment by a few between CigarPass and ClubStogie. I'm not here to say that we should all get along, but smoking buddies can be found anywhere.

Sincerely,
Ji

I must be the biggest dick ever, cuz:

I don't understand the sympathy factor here. This guy pulls a sh.t move on us and gets banned; now he's pulling an even bigger sh.t move and validating it with the death of a family member???

No sympathy here.

Biggest dick ever, signing off.

Thanks for the post and I accept your apology. I'm not sure how you got from my 4 word post (Will you ship first?) to me wanting to "throw a few jabs at Thrilla" but water under the bridge.

As for the resentment noted between boards....... I was somewhat taken back by the way I was spoken to. Kinda childish actually but I noted it. No biggie which is why I dropped out of the conversation even while others were still taking shots at me. In my case, the resentment shown was certainly from the CS side of the pond.

Edited to add: Like AVB said.... stick around some. You will see the community looks after each other a bit more than some but thats not a bad thing.

Kenny will you ship your end first?

;)

Tony, to you, I would ship anything first. Others get Mario and Guido shipping service. Their collection rate is about 98% and the other 2%...well, we don't here from them anymore. ;)

:whistling: :D

I will if either you or Kenny would like to do a 5-stick trade.. just to get my feet wet a little wetter over here.

Ji

Ive meant many fad cigar smokers. Thats ok with me as it is expensive and dangerous. Either way ill take all the tats i have yet to smoke one.

So is this someone from here thats selling off trades? Sorry i been gone a while.

Where the hell have you been? :sign:  Welcome back, and as CC said earlier, stop by more often brudda!

Ya ya im here for a bit every day now again. Good to see/hear from all of you. If you just wanna bs ill have a thread up soon for the Davidoff anni i had over my b-day.

Kenny - dang.. I read the PM before I saw this thread. If I had seen this thread first, I wouldn't have given up my address! PM Sent Kenny.

Again, rumor has it that this lad's real name is Chris Joaquinn and resides in or around Walnut California. Thanks for those PMs. As for evidence of a death in the family:

My Internet sleuth (and sweetie) found nothing even close. No obits anywhere around Walnut with Joaquin or Joaquinn in them as text. (Other than in context of San Joaquin Valley). No Chris or Christopher that comes close either. This is greater LA so could be another paper, but I also checked all spellings against a California database and also got no hit. However, it could be as simple as mom might have other last name.

Results: inconclusive.

My spider sense was tingling from the get-go with his posts. The sale in the "other forum" was equaly weird, IMO. He was dragging his feet about listing his cigars which any moron would have done from the start. Typical modern sociopath.
