Congrats Wilkey! That is quite the great news! I guess the old boy can still slip one pass the goalie, huh? :p

All the best, my friend.

Steve

I couldn't be happier for you brother!!! Congrats!!

Congrats Wilkey and here is to all staying healthy and going well.
(Just imagine the smoke rings rising)

Great news Wilkey!

I've got two myself and agree, there's nothing better IMO. I wish you nothing but the best of luck in the process over the next few months. I hope it's all worry free.

Congrats, trust me, as much as you loved having one....you'll wonder how you did without two :)

Grats Grats Grats!!!

Now as far as the age thing goes, don't sweat it. Both Elke and I were getting a bit long in the tooth when she became pregnant with Diane.

Of course the older the parents the more risks are involved, we ended up in Nürnberg at one of the only two specialists located in Germany who did a few tests and said "Well I think everything is all right, but I can't be sure, I could shove a needle into the embryonic sack as one last test." But there is always a risk I might miss and damage the baby."

My wife told him "Thanks but no thanks, no matter how our child turns out, it has a loving home and she isn't willing to take the risk."

And Diane just turned 5, and is a Healthy Intelligent little girl, who gives the Energizer bunny a run for his money.

The best of wishes to you and yours my brother! I can't express how happy I am for you!

Exactly the way we approached it. The statistical risk of having a child with a genetic disorder of some sort was about eight times the risk of miscarriage due to a procedure like CVS or amnio. At our age, we decided to take it one step at a time because that 0.25% risk of losing the child loomed so much more ominously than the 2% genetic risk. This was one case where going by the numbers did not fit our particular case. The first exam dropped the genetic risk by a factor of 10 so we're grateful. One step at a time. Level 2 ultrasound in November.

Thanks everyone!

Wilkey

Congratulations, Wilkey. That is fantastic news. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I shall most certainly light one up in your honor this coming weekend.

Congratulations, Wilkey! And don't worry, even if the ultrasound tells you it's a girl, you may still get a boy.

It does happen...

Congrats man!!! I hope to have the chance to experience your joy someday down the road...just not quite yet! Will definitely light one up for your and your family. Congrats again!

Congratulations Wilkey!!! I knew smoking all those CAO Moontrances would pay off for you in the end!

Seriously though, great news and here's wishing your whole family all the best in waiting for this new addition to the family! You'll be back up to your eyeballs in diapers in no time! I'll be sure to have a smoke in your honor real soon!

Congrats! I shall burn one in the little feller's honor this evening :)
