Tired of paying too much for home phone service

I think your buddy is probably getting paid but it is more likely pay-per-sale than pay-per-click. I don't know if you are familiar with affiliate marketing but usually if a URL ends with with or contains "=xxx" somewhere after the dot com, someone is definetely tracking the activity of that link and someone is most likely getting paid.
I don't know that it is, or isn't, but before you guys tar and feather the guy be aware that there are lots of HTML codes that start with "=xxx" that are far from nefarious. For example, "=18" on YouTube enables hi def file transfers for certain file formats, to name one off the top of my head.

As far as phone service, we recently got the "Triple Play" from Comcast and I couldn't be happier. We now get our hi def TV, broadband service, and home phone service all from Comcast. The incremental cost adder for the phone, since we had the other two services, was about $12.00 / month and we kept our old phone number, free domestic long distance, voice mail, etc.

Comcast has already earned a place high up on the list-of-companies-with-whom-I-shall-never-choose-to-do-business-with-again. When I was a cable and broadband customer of theirs, their billing was variable and unclear. When I canceled my service and returned the equipment, I had to fight with them for three months to actually discontinue the billing for service. Several friends of mind have experienced similar problems.
