Seen a lot of "I've got one of those, but don't know when I should smoke it." posts lately.

The loss of two of CP's true BOTLs in the last year gave me the answer for you.

SMOKE THEM NOW!

It's only a cigar, so smoke the good ones as you get them, because you never know that if you wait, that you will be given the chance to smoke them later.

Sure save one for your birthday, holiday, anniversary etc etc etc... but don't hang on to all the "good ones" forever, because forever never comes.

 Your brother in smoke...

Shawn

P.S. I'm taking a Padrón 80th to the bar tonight... why? Because I can, and for no other reason but that...

P.S.S. And make sure to post a review! :sign:

But I am scared that I will really really like it, and have none left.... :(

or,

What if it does not live up to the hype.... :0

If you liked it, then great, you get to look forward the search and hunt for a proven winner. The reward will be sweeter after putting in the effort to track it down.

If you do not place it on a pedestal, there is no hype, smoke enjoy, start over.....

Shawn, great post.....

Burning a certain Cammy tomorow night ;)

Ahmen, I also thing this should be included in the newbie handout when you sign up... Well spoken.

Very good post, I have to agree with you on this. Although I am still young I have been smoking some of the cigars that I told myself I would hold on to for at least a year or two before I indulge in them. A post like this always makes you think. After reading this I'm tempted to go grab different cigar for the ride home from the family Christmas lunch.

 and as far as your first quote goes... I've found that if you stay righteous, you always end up with another to smoke ;)

Makes sense. After reading this & thinking about it,I have a Hemingway Signature Sungrown thats not gonna make it to see Monday!

LOL maybe I need to read my own sig line more often!

Shawn, your sentiments couldn't be more correct. I frequently take time to inspect and admire my collection and on many occasions have resisted the temptation to pick one up and enjoy it because it's one of a kind or one that I know will be difficult to replace. Now I ask myself..WHY? So..I agree... smoke 'em now and enjoy them now, and take comfort in the notion that there will be others down the road to take their place.

Goes without saying. I've had too many friends come home from combat zones, only to be run over crossing the street.

Doc.

So I guess I should smoke the whole box of sharks and opus x I have been holding on to for all these months. Just kidding. I need to make myself realize this train of thought. I want to "save" the good ones for a special occasion, but you never know what will happen.

Will be sacrificing some Opus too the smoke gods, when the weather warms a little.
I just wanna make sure my palate is nice and ready for some of the more complex sticks. :p
Excellent post Wurm. Have a great weekend everybody.

I've shared the same thoughts in my sig for quite some time now. Glad that not the only one that believes cigars are meant to be enjoyed and not stored in an antique shop. Life is too short. Enjoy it.
Wurm, well said!

Great piece of advice. I am definitely THAT guy. I have been so focused on trying to "build my collection" that I have forgot the reason for buying cigars in the first place. So definitely a goal from here on in...smoke em up!

All I have to say... before going to bed...

Is the Padrón 80th went really well with the Opus xXx... and the LFD 2006 will more than likely be enjoyed by the brother I gifted it to tonight.

Goodnight CP, and happy holidays!
