Today's Smoke 2025

OK. Please forgive me for my enthusiastic comments in this thread, it seems to be a picture thread and I’m probably talking too much. But …

This is my first Padron cigar. I know, you can’t believe it, I’ve been smoking cigars on and off for 40 years. Until I joined this forum, I just hadn’t tried that many and I used to just buy boxes of what I liked. Very little experimentation. I had (are you sitting down?) never had a Padron cigar before today. This Natural 3000 is the first.

Wow! It’s the Platonic Ideal is what a cigar is. I haven’t even finished it yet and next year it may be another cigar … but if you put a gun to my head and said, “You can have an unlimited supply of cigars for the rest of your life, never running out of them, and they’re free. But you have to pick one and forgo ever smoking another one for as long as you live.”

Today? It would be this cigar. Wow! This is what a good cigar should be. At any price point. I’m gobsmacked.

@Pugman1943 you can stop asking Rod if you can initiate legal proceedings against me for this oversight. Hopefully I’ve rectified this situation to your satisfaction. ;)

A. Fuente, Padron and Pepin - a few of my all-time favorite manufacturers. Glad you're enjoying it.

If you like Padron, consider reading the story behind Jose, and why there's a picture of a hammer on the bands.
I saw that. They have a 25 minute with Jose in the website that is terrific! The hammer 🔨 is explained.

And Pepin is a genius of cigars, too.

Thanks, at least you tried one. Most of the gang here would tell ou they are a solid smoke, and the series ( 1000-7000 ) the blend is the same. I am a Maduro guy but would never refuse a natural. When you feel up to it, please try a '64. Totally different. Then. Of course when you sitting there wondering what to try next, there is the '26 ( which amazingly is different than the previous two ). Fun adventures for sure. And I un clicked the shoot on site with Rod.

Even though it broke my rule of letting cigars rest at least two weeks after arrival, I had to smoke a Rojas Cinco de Mayo on Cinco de Mayo.

The blend on this an interesting one.

6x54 Toro
Wrapper: Ecuador Habano Maduro
Binder: Mexican San Andres
Filler: 80% Connecticut Broadleaf ligero from 2018, the balance Jalapa, Nicaragua viso and ligero

For having just picked them up from the post office this afternoon, it smoked very well. Very bold, dark profile. Coffee, leather, earth, wood, pepper. But not muddy or murky at all. A really nice smoke and I'm looking forward to seeing how these develop with some humidor time.

This is likely to be the winner for my May cigar of the month. Highly recommended.

Saturday --> Tatuaje (the lounge had a few in a box with a 2018 date code!) / Then I saw that they still had one box open of Metapa before the name change to Aksum / El Viejo Continente / Tatuaje / EP Carrillo / Rojas Havana Nights
