Well, I neglected to take a photo of this cigar while smoking it, so I had to resort to an Internet snip. This is a JR Ultimate Rothschild, a 4.5x50 Connecticut wrapper Honduran cigar. I got them as a lark because as a young LT in the Air Force in the mid-1980s I used to smoke 3-4 boxes of their Double Corona JR Ultimate cigars per year. That was all I smoked and they were quite good, rumored to be made for JR by Hoyo de Monterrey.

They are not as good as they were then, but it was a nice smoke. Perfect construction, burn, and draw, although I did run the PerfecDraw through it after about a quarter of it was gone to open it a bit more to my liking. Smoke production was good, smoked just under an hour, not bad for its size. A decent cigar with notes of espresso, leather, and cocoa, but not nearly as complex as most modern blends today. And the center of gravity has moved from Honduras and Dominican Republic back then to Nicaragua today, for the most "Cubanesque" non-cuban cuban style cigars today.

I probably won't reload, but it was a fun smoke, glad I got a fiver with my order. Here she is.

A couple inches in now and I'm enjoying it. Not as much as the Volume 1 from the other night, but that's understandable - I like corojo, but I love Habano.

I haven't had much from Espinosa, but of the ones I have the construction has been absolutely top notch.

I'm looking forward to trying Volumes 3 & 4 (I bought a sampler). From the tobacco used they both sound like they could be great.
 
‘03 Cohiba Siglo VI - from the first year these were available. I only smoke these on special occasions and this was the perfect capper for my final Father’s Day smoke. I love Siglo VI - easily my favorite Siglo. These OR are almost transcendental. Creamed honey & cardamom. Smooth as a baby’s bottom. OY!

Interesting way to pick a stick. It shows the amazing variety in the cigar community. It might help if you buy something beside white owl white grapes and backwoods, but you be you!

Yeah I'm a PAM 64 guy - for me they really hit on all cylinders, especially the Exclusivos and Monarcas.
