‘24 RyJ Cupidos - I do love a piramides. The best shape to enjoy a large ring cigar. Huge fan of the indefatigable RyJ Beli so was muy excited to try one of these. Cold draw boasts of great things to come with soft leather, strawberries & cream. Primo wrapper on this thing. One of the most beautiful I’ve seen in a while. I just sat there and stared at it for what seemed like a ridiculous amount of time as I rolled it back and forth between my fingers. First third some coffee & crème brûlée. Flavors are muted though, screaming out YOUNG! Second third some dried apricot. Now reminding me of a very mild RyJ Cazadores (my favorite RyJ). Some lovely fruit cake flavors present. A little less muted now. Next few draws are cotton candy, graham cracker & tart cherry. Super complex ever changing flavors. Final third picked up strength but the complex flavors are gone now. Certainly rough around the edges with the myriad flavors just begging to come out. Retro surprising smooth & mild for such a young Havana. So excited to see how these develop. My bet is they will be phenomenal. It’s been a long time since I smoked a young Havana with such huge potential. Also, hats off to the roller. Superior construction. Such a beautiful cigar I actually debated putting it to the flame. Only ashed once! 90 minute wild ride.
