La Palina 1896

I don’t normally go for connecticuts but this was part of a 5 stick sampler. Wide open draw (v-cut) - first cigar I’ve had go out on me except while golfing. Super-mild with notes of bread, tea, and wood with a sweet finish. Very slight developing spice. Mild pepper retro. Sweet finish. TERRIBLE burn issues. Not bad but not one I would buy on purpose.

Looks like I forgot to post last night's cigar. Padilla Miami 8&11 Lancero. This one was rolled too densely resulting in a tight draw and splitting the wrapper in several places. Good flavor, though, when it was burning decent.

I'm down to just two lanceros and two robustos left.

I’ve got a few 1932s from 2007 left. I just look at them and say “not today!”

Chaparral Cabra Maduro toro. The rep from Carrass was in last night and I asked him for his best shot against a Padron 1000 series; this was his recommendation. Not a bad smoke, but with more bite than the P-drone. And the wrapper is thin by comparison.

I wanted to add to the Nat. Geo

cartoon yesterday but time got in the way. WAY back when ( 1955-1956 ) Playboy had an artist who signed his drawing Vargas, of which I am attaching one here for you enjoyment. Many the time the drawing was better than the real photo-shoot. Apologize for the thread screwup here. And a aside, while looking for these drawings, they have been on sale, for a average of $16K plus.

Must have left in in my shirt pocket and ran it through the washer and dryer… it’s smoking surprisingly well considering all the damage.
