Torch Lighter Recommendations

PB 207 here...two for one deal with a Hong Kong company. Plus their Blazers don't have the child-safety roll thingy.

Same here, got mine as a present from Rob300c. I have a way of misplacing lighters, cutters and cases so I stopped buying the expensive lighters a long time ago. When I travel I usually go to the nearest gas station and buy a cheapie and leave it.

I have the Lotus L16. It has to be one of the best lighters I've ever owned. Not a single problem and it takes a beating. I've had it for about two years now and would gladly buy another. Colibris on the other hand have never been anything but trouble. I've purchase three now and all three went to hell in less than three months.

Recently I lost my Xikar Enigma. So I stopped off at my local B&M and went with a downgraded Xikar. The one with the squezze trigger. Its single flame and for $30 bucks... its working just fine. I am partial to Xikar cutters and torches... and the warranty is the best in the biz....

I have an Enigma also and it works without any problems. The warranty is as good as it gets. Xicar also has a new triple-flame model that just came out. It's pretty nice and still under $100.

If it's for a house lighter, go with Vector and get one of the big torches. I have a dual flame Lotus that is pretty reliable, but I'd go with the Xicar triple before I went Lotus again.

My dad, stepdad, and I have all had Blazer PB-207s that have lasted for years. Also my Z-plus insert is extremely reliable but as someone metioned it has a small capacity, but for $10 you can't beat it.

Just out of curiosity, for those of you who've had such phenomenal success with their lighters, how many cigars do you light a week? I light 28 to 30.

Doc.

Good question, Doc. Probably an average of 10 cigars per month per year over 10 years. And I don't usually just light. I'm an inveterate toucher-upper.

I suppose that makes the longevity of my PB-207 a bit of an outlier.

I can't chip in much here, I've been using and carrying lighters for years, the biggest cause of 'death'?

Some jackass stealing it! Another reason why cheapos are good =)

I use a cheap Ronson w/ King butane. My last one was an even cheaper tri-flame that broke the first time I dropped it. My Ronson has been dropped about 12 times and still holds up. I'm not gonna mess with whats not broke so I'm happy for now.

+1

My brother picked one of these up for me, and it has never let me down. I've dropped it plenty of times too.

Only torch that stands up to time and is good is IM Corona. Very expensive but always going to work. Xikar and Colibri both need to go back and start over they used to be the quality but it seems thats faded over years overrated junk there. Cant tell you how many Xikar and colibris ive gone through.

PM me with your addy.
I'll send you a couple of
torch lighters that were left
over from our last Los Angeles
herf. The lighters work and
are reliable....., I think.

Anyone who got one of the
lighters want to chime in.

Jack

Sorry for the confusion.
The above was directed
for okiesmoke.

Kingantz..., Mephiston....,
I got your back.

I apologize again for
the miscommunication.

I can't do with out my U.S. Tiger - the brushed metal, non blinking light, triple torch for $9.99 TO $16 in convenience stores, it's a bargain trooper lighter. I've owned andf used a bunch of the expensive ones but I probably would not trade them for my Tiger. Hell, I've run it over twice and dropped it out the window @ 35MPH!

I personally have a lighter like you can find at your local gas station. It's a Turbo Blue, I think it's called. but it has a torch on end and a cigar punch on the other. I like it. I also have a ronson that I got from walmart.

Total Cost for both: $10-$12

They're reliable for me.

I have a Solo dual flame torch, was recommended to me by Rod sometime last year, from cigarmony.com. Has not clogged, always fires and was $20 bucks, with a lifetime warranty. Hard to beat, and as the others stated, Blazers are a nice product as well.

They all suck. I have three, a Dupont extend and 2 Blazers. The extend and one of the Blazers are off for repair. The other Blazer just came back. I am so sick and tired of this BS. When is someone going to make a Butane torch lighter as reliable as a Zippo.

Doc.

I have to send my Blazer back to holts because it jammed up after 3 weeks of use. The best and most reliable lighter I own is a cheap $3.00 refillable made by Ronson. I got it at Walley Mart.

I have a small Colibri (741) shaped like a hip flask. I love this lighter but it didn't make it a year before I had to send it in for repair. I also have a Prometheus Tycoon that has been in for repair.

The most reliable torch lighter I have ever had was some off brand tank style lighter that came in a little golf bag with tubes and a cutter for $20.00 that clip on my real golf bag.

Every torch I have owned including Colibri, Extend, Xicar etc. have started out good and then turned to crap. I just buy the crappy convenience store ones for around 5 bucks now and they seem to last longer than the pricy ones. JR has a special on lighters in the new catalog boasting a 3 year no hassle warranty. Try one of those.

I'm happy with my Prometheus Ultimo...I've had it for about three months, and it's still working*. Better than I can say for any other torch I've had.

*knock on wood

You could bye ALOT of cheap lighters for the cost of that bad boy. But than again the Corona is a hefty purchase also.
