Do you think that we should implement the comments section in our profile to "Traders Comments" ? It would be a way to praise or warn members of previous trades.

What do you think this is - eBay???

Absolutely not!!! Trader's comments have absolutely nothing to do with being able to evaluate whether or not someone is trustworthy. The ones that are not trustworthy are long gone. The ones joining the board now that are going to be untrustworthy won't be here long either.. :whistling:

You want to know someone's reputation? Stick around and participate in the community. You'll know... ;)

Search is your friend.

This has been mentioned many times and rightly shot down.

No, bad traders are quickly shown the door here and let's keep it that way. Besides it is Rod's house we don't make that call.

Heh, I don't think it's necessary...it's pretty obvious who's good and you ride the bad one's out of town!

Thanks guys, it was a toss in the hat; I see what the general concensus is and why.

I voted "no" for the following reasons:

1. Trading here is a privilege and one that is earned over time. Any system that can speed up the apparent trustworthiness of member who has yet to earn his stripes through participation in the community runs counter to the ideals of this forum.

2. Active screening by the vigilant members of this forum is a much more public and effective way to insure that the standards for fair transactions are upheld. The dialogue that ensues is open to everyone, not just the seller and the buyer.

This is the most succinct, best description of the "system" I've yet seen here. In fact, #2 isn't even needed.

biggest problem I see with comments is it's too easy to have someone add false comments, either good or bad.
