USPS denied claim

I found all that stuff. I want to actually speak with someone. I want to know where my humidor is. I want it returned. Im about to be out a humidor, money and cigars.

I'm encouraged by Vol's post below. I will talk to my local guy today and let you know what he says. He has the humi by the way and we can get it back if the claim is not paid.

I had shipped a motorcycle tank this past winter that was damaged during shipping. At first USPS denied the claim, but then I got my local postmaster involved. He took my side as it was obvious that it was damaged during transport, they reversed the claim and I was taken care of. Talk to your local Postmaster.

cool. I bet Wade can fix it for me. He has skills. That was a really nice humidor and its a shame to see what happened to it. Ive never seen another like it.

I took the tank right into the PO and showed the Postmaster himself. I pointed out all the damage, what it should've looked like vs. what it looked like at the time. He was in total agreement that it was properly packaged and that it was damaged during transit, I think that was my saving grace. I brought in the original box, packaging and tank, I was sure to give him all the information necessary and he took it from there. A few weeks later I got a check for the amount it cost me to have the tank fixed & repainted, plus shipping costs minus insurance cost. I thought that was totally fair.

Dave, shoot me pics of it, if I can fix it for you, It'd be my pleasure.

im not even sure I still have the damage pics. Lucasbuck did take pics of the damage so maybe he has them. I have the pics of what it USED to look like.

Damn, that's a nice looking humidor. If Lucasbuck has pics of the damage, I'd be happy to see if I can help. I'm always up for a good woodworking challenge.

I found this in search because I am paranoid about a package I sent to a BOTL.

That's a damn shame!

USPS is a joke in most facets of their business and I would never ship anything fragile/valuable with them again!

hello dave,

if USPS denies your appeal consider giving small claims court a try.

by the way, that WAS a nice looking humidor.

thanks,
mike
