This is a wine I tried over a year ago, and I decided to revisit. It was great the first time around, and even better the second. The wine is a blend of equal parts Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sangiovese grapes.
Upon pouring the wine, the color varies from purple in the center to almost ruby near the outer edge of the glass. This is a very aromatic wine with smells of cherry and tobacco.
Upon first taste, I am overwhelmed with an incredible burst of fresh berry followed with a clean finish of chocolate and spice. The tannins seem to be almost non-existent. It is a very smooth and easy drinking wine, and one I would highly recommend.
Since 1998 this wine has been a continual 90 point scorer, and is an exceptional value at a price of less than $10. I have found it for as low as $7.99. If you are looking for an easy drinking wine that pairs well with anything from steak to pizza, give this one a try. I would rate this wine 91-93 points (IMHO).
