Okay, so, you guys know that i kinda haven't been around most of the summer. Wanna know why????
Okay, so here's the story. Back in October, when i was at Purdue, i was renting an apartment with 3 other people. (two girls and ONE guy). The guy was nice enough to take charge and pay all the utils, and divide it up equally among the other people. So, every month or two, i pay him a check for utilities.
So, i pay him via check every time, and this particular time, i think it was October, gave him a check for around 100 bucks. So, months go by, thinking that he cashed the check. The Check (note the date of issuance)
BIG MISTAKE.
It turns out he didn't cash the check until about 10 days before june, and this is when i had about 200 dollars left in my bank account. Since i had 200 left, i decided to basically withdrawl everything i had from that account. But since it was BANK ONE, not available in ny, i used my check card to take everythin out. However, since my stupid roomie decided to cash my check in JUNE, it made everything all crazy and out of sync...
basically, costed me a crap load in overdrawing and fees, about $250 in total. I spent most of the summer paying that off, and obtaining some pocket money, which wasn't that much.
I asked bank one about the situation, and they said i was at fault. MOST banks automatically void checks after 6 months. In BANK ONE's case, it's ONE FRIGGIN YEAR.
Moral of story: keep tabs of your checks, write VOID AFTER XX days, and don't STAB PEOPLE IN THE FRIGGIN NECK.
hope you enjoyed my story, and why i wasn't around all that much.
I have more stories about what happened during the summer, but it'll unwravel little by little. One time, it involves giving a crap load of people cigars, and there'll be pictures.
But until next time kiddies, remember my adages. You know what they are.
And my roomie sucks.
He called me up a month later, asking me if i got my router and network cables ( i lent em to my roommates so we could all get dsl), and i said yes. I also told him what happened. He was like, "WELL, IT"S A GOOD THING I DIDN"T C.O.D. THE PACKAGE I SENT."
gah. thinking about it makes me violent.
oh, the names are half heartly erased in the check.jpg to protect the guilty. sorta.
