What is the right type of weather to smoke a good cigar. Or does weather really matter when smoking a cigar?

Does size matter of the cigar aka like length and ring size?

IMO you take your chances at any temp below 40-45. The wrapper can crack and split due to the difference between the outside temp and the heated smoke going through the cigar. I can't say that I've noticed size mattering or not.

For me perfect weather is anytime I can get out on the deck in a t-shirt and shorts.

I'm an outdoor cigar smoker, so comfort definitely plays a part in the overall experience for me. I can smoke when it's cold or when it's hot, but prefer to smoke when it's more pleasant.

As for cigar size, I tend to reach for smaller smokes in the winter because it's cold here in Idaho.

t-shirt and shorts... hmm, about 2 months a year for me!

I've enjoyed a cigar as cold as -20f, and did not have any problems with the wrapper cracking and whatnot. However, it is not nearly as enjoyable as AVB's temp, that much I can say! And I don't usually smoke anything if it's below 10 degrees or so, simply because it's just not that much fun.

As far as the ring gauge and such, not really sure... my preference is somewhat larger ring sizes (robusto) but I would suspect a smaller size would fare just as well?

Anytime I can get together with a friend or two, 40 degrees or 100 degrees, is a great time for a cigar!! Although, like AVB, prefer 65-80 temperature range, but take my pleasures when and where I can!!

Mid to upper seventies. Last hour before a storm comes in. When the breeze picks up and you can feel the pressure dropping as the front moves in. Especially if you can see the lightning in the distance before you can hear it.
Then just let it roll on in.


Actually I love this time anyway, maybe a nice lonsdale on the deck to help the celebration.

Brett and Drew and I have toughed it out when it's been pretty cold numerous times last year. We aren't as adventerous this year it seems like...we've been spoiled by smoking inside at bars and at the Outlaw...

Adam.....my young padione.....in Maryville the only time to smoke is August to September and then again in LATE March and April....but i believe the best tiem is anytime we go down to outlaw...i think you should go the next time we do and word is there is a hit out on saturday.....

I usually don't smoke outside if it is too hot...90 degrees and up. Wiping sweat and smoking just don't go together.

Right on. Best weather time period. I also really enjoyed the weather right before hurricanes while living in Florida.

Was smoking out at the Mirage's pool out in Vegas when it was about 110, wrapper was toast after about 10 minutes. Cracked, peeling just falling apart. Thats what I get for trying to save $$ at the tables. Sat at Casa for 2 hours no problems, just lots of drinks.

I like to smoke my cigars out in the cold when its subzero weather outside. It reminds me of the time when I used to smoke cigars in the cold while I was stationed in the Antarctic.
