I'm sure when he reads this, he's gonna pm me about whooping my ass, but I don't care. As most of you know, Michael (Lurch) will be deployed for the sandbox directly. Over the course of time he's been a member on this board, I've gotten to know him, interact with him, chat with him, and God forbid, think of him as a friend even though I've never met him in person. He's a down to earth guy that has a passion for the Corps. It's people like him that we need to thank on a daily basis for volunteering to do what he does. He's leaving a wife and a 1 year old daughter behind for the good of our country.....and gentlemen, for me, that's nothing short of heroic. I ask each and every one of you to keep Michael in your thoughts and prayers to stay safe while he's away and to give his wife the courage to keep going with him in your hearts while defending our country. He's been a model CP'er during his time here, never starting any shit and adding quality posts and information in his 6 months. One day, I hope to have the priviledge of being able to sit down, bullshit with him, smoke a cigar with him, and get to know him as a person when this is all said and done. I cherish my friendship with you Michael and wish you godspeed in getting back and hope you stay safe while you're gone. God bless you Brother, we'll certainly miss you while you're away.Know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers will be ith all of you while you're gone

There is no greater mitzvah to this country and to all those people in and out of this country who are allowed to live free and thrive because of the brave work you do. Well Mike, what can I say? Matt said it best in his letter and it was placed in the hands of a very deserving young man. You are a pleasure to herf with and a great guy, we will continue to pray through this until we herf again together brother. We will light one (or 20 heh heh) up in honor of you and your guys. Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
