What "Loved Ones" think of CP

So my girlfriend smokes flavored sticks when I smoke. I don't knock her, I love she smokes with me. You can ask EShaw about how much she loves the flavored ones. Anyways, she really gives me hell about being on here so much! I don't think it's a bad thing, it's just my hobby, as I call it. "When I told you to get a hobby, I didn't mean cigars!" - The girlfriend.

Before Christmas "I will not contribute to your "habit"! - The GF

And for v-day she bought me, two Perdomo EDS salamone's, two AShton VSG ER's, and "the cigar pipe". lol

Anyways, just wondered what other peoples familes thought about there addictions or habits of cigars and CP.

The wife is ready to cut up my credit cards and have me committed. She thinks davela, the guy who got me started down this road, is evil incarnate.
 
Every so often wifey gets the frying pan out (I sympathize with you Swifty).. Most times she just shakes her head at my obsession. The best time is during the warmer weather when we're both in the back yard, enjoying the evening, having a martini - me with my stick of class - she with her Acid Blondie (that's the only one she'll smoke)... Hurry up, spring!!!!
 
The Mrs. gets jealous from time to time. Good thing I have a few hours to get online before she gets home. She does like to smoke with me, though. She'll puff on whatever I am having. It's fun to see her buzzed up she can't stand. :p

eh, my wife's pretty understanding about my hobbies. as long as we make the mortage, have food in the fridge, and she can go shopping here and there, it's all good. :)

(of course, cigar-buying and music-buying at the level I like to is what causes me to make sacrifices for one or the other! :( )
 
the folks don't like it too much, but all the guys on my monther's side are cigar smokers so have heard it before.

the ex-girlfriend [as of 5min. and one e-mail ago :( ] didn't mind. Got me a zippo and a few fuentes for X-Mas.


my friends like it. think it's cool and have come to me for advice on some before.
when I joked about thinking about giving up girls, booze, or cigars for Lent, one of them told me "the first two you should, but not the third". think I'll take her advice. :cool:
 
My wife didn't mind that I got a tuppedor filled with cigars for christmas. She does shake her head whenever I have to mail a bomb, pass, or pay for extra things like delivery/confirmation, insurance, and next day air. I've become more knowledgeable about the various shipping companies as a result, I'm on a first name basis with the UPS guy. She hated it when in one month, I spent over $300.00 on cigar related items like a cooler, digital hygrometer, as well as some good cigars. I'm on a "budget" which I regularly go about $10-20.00 over. She is very cool about this hobby and doesn't mind the time that I spend on here. She has her own forum and she posts on that inbetween me being on CP. She would prefer that I not be in so many passes, but she knows that I really enjoy it.

My parents-think that I "collect" cigars, and that I don't smoke 'em. :D She does read the threads from time to time in order to talk with me a little bit about cigars, part of her effort to understand something that I enjoy. Before we got DSL, she signed up for cigarpass in order to reach me, since I was on the computer....on CP.....all day. :p She's very cool about this hobby, just likes to give me crap about certain things about it.

Ugh. She keeps wanting John to get her one of the Heaven Grape Coronas. I told her that I could not in good conscious assist in her obtaining that "cigar"
 
Yeah, in case you're not familiar, Heavenly Cigar Company is a company that specializes in making flavored cigars. Crappy flavored cigars. Yeah, I know that the cigars could be considered crappy just by being flavored, but these warrant the extra adjective. For some reason, our manager at the store ordered some of every flavor. John's girlfriend wants the grape one. It actually smells like grape kool-aid.

I had an amazing " no #hit" experience months ago when I read that flavoring cigars is a heck of a way to cover up foul-smelling and inferior tobacco. It allows a company to literally scrounge the bottom of the floor for cheap tobacco to use. I can't say that I've ever had a grape cigar, just one that was cherry flavored once long ago.
 
This is a picture I took of the foot of the aformentioned crappy cigar. These aren't aromatically flavored like some of them, they actually use a syrup. That's the dark stuff you're seeing.

OMFG!!!, that's disgusting!!. :0 :0 :0 Is it basically sugar and other additive substances?
 
Pretty much. They also make other wonderful flavors, for example: Grape, Honey Nut, Cherry Cream, Dreamsicle, Cinnamon, etc. I get little frat boys in my store all the time who can't seem to get enough of them.

Just sad.
 
The wife gives me some grief over all the cigars that I have been smoking lately, "I thought this was only going to be an occasional thing again". What can I say, gotta make room in that coolidor :D for the next purchase. My parents or wifes don't seem to care. My mom is just happy its not chewing tobacco or cigs anymore, my dad is having a hard time giving up the Copenhagin so I do not smoke around him right now, I'll wait and catch him while we are out in the boat fishing this spring. :sign:
 
My wife hates it when I'm on here ("We never talk anymore..."). Both she and my 11-year old son hate it when I smoke cigars. They both love the mall, tho, so that's when I get most of my smoking done.
