Stevie didn't want to do the song Don't come around here no more, written by Annie and Dave for her. So, they offered it to Tom and it was his biggest music video hit. So says Google.

Pretty close to what I have,

Dave started the song with Stevie in mind but was having some trouble finishing it. Jimmy Iovine suggested Tom could help out. They finished the song, and Tom took the demo over that had him singing to Stevie's house and she didn't think she couldn't do it any better and passed on it. Tom asked Dave if he could use it and the rest is history. All the videos are from 1985 when this happened.
