What SMOKING music are you listening to? (2026)

WW is early not because we want too but because we have too.
Her first single at 13 - 1959

Her first solo hit just 2 months before her first hit with Porter Wagoner - 1967

Her first hit with Porter Wagoner a cover of a Tom Paxton song - 1967. Tom was a well known writer if anti-war songs since 1965 at the time

Her first hit after leaving Porter - a love song to him - 1974

Her biggest duet - 1984

GODSPEED DOLLY.
It's always sad when someone passes. But I lost all respect for her when she shilled the jab.

Live Friday

The Band - Rock Of Ages (1972)

Recorded over the last week of 1971 at the Academy of Music in NY this was the Band's first live album. Originally released as a 2 record set this album has more lives then a heard of cats.
Released as the double album
Released as 2 single albums
Released as a single edited cd at least 3 times with different edits
Released as a double CD at least twice one with a bonus song
Released as a box set with the original double album tracklist and a 2 CD set of the Dec 31 show
Released with different mixes in both single and double CD
Released on a hybrid SACD with a different mix
Released as a DVD with a different order and 11 songs the same as the double CD and 10 different ones.
I'm sure there are some I've missed

The one you want is a double CD with the 4 Dylan songs or the 4CD box set or the DVDif you can find it.

A good album that packs their most well known songs (at the time) with the emotion a live show brings. The Band almost single handedly started the Americana movement and this is a good example of it.

I never really thought that keeping people from dying was a bad thing in general. Maybe it depends on the people.
Even if that were true which it most certainly is not - we will have to agree to disagree there - it’s no excuse for calling people cowards etc as well as bullying people to take a shot for a virus slightly less deadly than the seasonal flu. I lost my business of almost 30 years because of people like her. Choice is the hallmark of liberty. Take all the shots you want but don’t tell me or even force me to do the same.

I have a hard time imagining Dolly Parton bullying people but she did call the hesitant cowards but I can't find anything about her views of shutdowns which were enacted by the states. I would say to look at the CDC numbers for 2019 flu deaths and 2021 Covid deaths but I'm not sure you will believe them. Of course the US had the highest death rate of any industrialized nation but that was because of the lack of leadership at the top.

Now Ray let's not resort to name calling. There are different opinions obviously and both side need to refrain from that or just not comment. It's really not going to help CP thrive. I'm sorry I chimed in with how I felt about Dolly. My bad. But all the fan fare brought my feelings up. I myself should have known better.

Let's agree to disagree and listen to some music. Please and thank you.
