What's on your plate today?

Family is coming for diner tomorrow so my wife pulled the remaking pasta dough from the freezer and we processed about 4 pounds into Linguine. Most will get frozen but about a 1.5 pounds will be served under our homemade roasted tomatoes sauce with sausage and meatball. Meatballs made by the wife and Broccoli Rabe sausage bought from our favorite Italian market, Ferrari’s market.

Does this have a recipe? Looks lovely and I love sourdough.

Sourdough does have a recipe, but you have to have a starter. Starters are basically water/flour that have grown bacteria, which makes the starter sour, but also works to ferment the dough. Getting a stater to start and grow/live, is a process in itself. You can make homemade bread, without the sourdough starter, but this bread that I posted has the sourdough starter in it.

It's basically:

325 grams of water
120 grams of sourdough starter
500 grams of APB flour (I use the red King Arthur)
20 grams of salt
1 stick of butter, grated

My dad called me earlier in the week asking me if I was working at all, or if I was gonna be home most nights. I told Dad that I had worked my shifts and that I would be home. Well today, a large box shows up that starts making noises as it sits on the counter. I had my suspicions, but there was nothing to indicate perishable on the side. I opened it up found several 4 pound lobsters. My wife is out of town. My kids won’t eat lobster what am I gonna do? Invite my neighbors.IMG_6077.jpegIMG_6083.jpegIMG_6091.jpegIMG_6092.jpegIMG_6094.jpegIMG_6095.jpeg
