Dude,

Please size those images down.

Got me stumped. Did you lay them down on top of some oily smokes or a cedar strip or something?

It might have been after they were rolled and stuck in a wheel, might have been tied up in a ribbon. Could be a lot of different things...

Was there a ribbon in the box? Might have been from that too...

Excellent point, Indyrob. A contaminated ribbon during storage as a wheel might do exactly this.

Sorry about the pics. I got a new camera recently (7mp) and I keep forgetting that I need to size them down, my apologies.

No ribbon as I bought them as singles. It's no big deal, I was just suprised to see it.

Thanks for your help guys.

hortsch,

When cigars are put up for aging at the factory after they are rolled, they are tied in "wheels" and stacked on the shelves. It's possible that the ribbon was contaminated or was placed on an oily shelf which transferred something to the wrappers.

Since I just got a Maduro one of these sent to me...Mine actually has a 2nd band on it that says Maduro. Makes me wonder if these didnt have a similiar band there as well and then was taken off later.

I dont think the second band would be so big. And I just thought of something... does the ring go all the way around the cigar or is it just across one side?

The bands dont go all the way around. They are about the exact size as a price tag...but theres no way the tag would have been stuck directly to the sticks

i've seen that on cigar underneath the band. i had assumed it was due to cigars being left in a window.

Well if the color is all the way around the single cigar... then its not a bundle band, its something else.

There's a local shop near me that has cigars from probably 5+ years, and they have some La Aurora robustos that I will stop in and get from time to time. They are 4.25 and they are yellow has hell. Anyways, whenever I remove the band, I see the same exact "tanline" on the cigar. Have you moved the band on this camcho to see a discoloration under it?

I would honestly think since these were on sale maybe after a good amount of time, that the light has discolored them.

Kinda like billboards will fade over time.

check it out and lemme know about the bands.

Just Smoke It!!! :)

My vote would be the ribbon, especially since it does not go all the way around.
