I’m in Portland area for the next 7 days, visiting nurseries, so after a hitting a trade show downtown @ the convention center, I decide to go by Broadway Cigar in Lake Oswego. Quirky but nice dude walks into the humidor, finds out i like Opus, show me a storage room where he has a SHIT TON of Opus, Forbidden X, Casa Fuente, I’m thinking I’m about to F my CC up, then he tells me the prices, 2-4x msrp. Can’t fault the guy, he’s put together quite the stash, be he’s got total, of very HTF Fuente, 75-100 boxes. He’s telling me he’s got one dude that’s spent 30,000 so far on HTF Fuente, yada yada yada. Nice guy, but starting to get a little irritating, i just want to smoke the cigar i bought, and return some emails. He comes into the lounge where I’m working and smoking, somehow we start talking about Cubans, he tells me he has a box of Cohiba Siglo 6 he bought some years ago before the prices went stupid, and he’ll sell me a couple for $30 a piece, i look at them, they look legit, so f it, i do it, not like I’m gambling much $. F me, i think they’re legit, if some of Cubano experts agree, I’m going to see how many he’ll sell me. Weird day!
