Winter Smoking?...

I'm finding Walking in Michigan, this time of year, for my nightly
Coffee (1 Mile Walk to the Coffee shop) My Cigar has less taste, kinda
dull?.. I get to the Shop and sit with a cup, and will let my smoke
die down, then on RE-LIGHTING it seems a bit better (Nobody seems to
mind if the place isn't too crowded, guess I'm lucky for NOW).. Could this be the Cold or DRY
of the Winter?.. Anyone else have this happen?...

Funny, I was thinking the totally opposite thought. The cigars seem to have more taste to my senses when it gets cooler and drier. I am in the Miami area so we do not have the extremes of cold and dry y'all have in Detroit.

It gets pretty cold and dry in Rhode Island and Delaware. I'm with N8 on this. Extreme cold really seems to dull both the cigar as well as my ability to get the most out of it.

I'm going to have to side with N8 and Ginseng also. After I've been in below freezing weather for 10 minutes, all my senses seem to dull a bit. Third cigar I ever smoked was outside in a below freezing windchill. It was a bundled Honduran (7x52) from JR. I couldn't tell just how spicy it was when I was smoking it, but after an hour and a half of it my body sure started to notice it's spiciness. Needless to say, I went to bed early that night, after spending a few moments standing over the tiolet.

Hey All, I just did a "Test" thing.........
This morning I added some Juice to the One Humidor (The New CAO-Black VERY Pretty).. Got the Humidity to about 73-75% from the 7 Drawer Vertical at %65-70%.. I plopped a few smoke in this morning, and on my Walk had a "5 Vegas", Now it might be me, but it seemed to make it a bit more Moist, and seemed to have a bit more taste?.. I'll leave a couple in there at a bit higher Humidity and try tomorrow also.. Kinda weard to me but maybe the Dry air you draw through is the bigger problem?..

I think that state of mind has a lot to do with this. I enjoy the winter and cold so i find my cigars taste better and my sense of enjoyment goes up. It is hard to enjoy something when you are uncomfortable or in a situation you dislike. For example whenever i smoke a cigar outside in the woods or fields i enjoy it more than when im sitting in my basement.

DoubeD, Good Point!...
This is why I'm going to test again in a day or so, as the Cigar was only in th eHumi for about 15hrs also.. But while all bundled up to take a Mile walk, your NOT as comfortable as you might be. Like a Pool, in Texas, With Bakini's, and cold Beer, and Plenty of Ice, and, And!.....
OK, My mind took off for a minute there..
