Some scumbags down in New Orleans, most likely the thieving looter low-lifes that stole the guns from Wallmart the other day, are now SHOOTING AT THE RESCUE HELICOPTERS!

{FOX News} "We have suspended operations until they gain control of the Superdome," said Richard Zeuschlag, head of Acadian Ambulance, which was handling the evacuation of sick and injured people from the Superdome.

He said that military would not fly out of the Superdome either because of the gunfire and that the National Guard told him that it was sending 100 military police officers to gain control.

"That's not enough," Zeuschlag said. "We need a thousand."

He also said that during the night, when a medical evacuation helicopter tried to land at a hospital in the outlying town of Kenner, the pilot reported that 100 people were on the landing pad, and some of them had guns.

Seriously, no hesitation should be made - just shoot the frell out of anyone with a weapon. The gene pool down there needs some serious cleaning. You can't get much worse than trying to insure that thousands of people die by shooting at the people trying to recuse them. These scumbags deserve to die ASAP.

I was afraid this kind of thing would happen. Anarchy is just a step away..natural disasters, man made disasters, ect. It's a shame people are so easily lured into this kind of behavior.

President Bush must move quickly and render the situation safe for the normal folks. Whatever it takes IMHO.

Maybe FEMA should ask the DOD to bring in this kind of chopper:

Even if it means dipping into more of the nations fuel reserve. ;)

To government wasn't prepared for this. Nobody was. All we can do for these people besides donating money, is pray.

To quote REM:

"It's the end of the world as we know it...."

Anarchy is a step up from what these murderous scumbags are doing. An Anarchist is someone that doesn't need the law to tell him/her right from wrong - these scumbags have no idea what the difference is, nor do they have a shred of morality in their pathetic bones. They are basically murderers - especially the ones that crowded on the helipad last night, armed with rifles, to prevent a medical helicopter from landing.

In the past, shoot-to-kill orders were issues for looters like this - I think it's a necessary evil at this point.

(for the record, while it's still technically stealing - I'm not going to look down on the poor people who are trying to get food and clothing for themselves and family, that's quite understandable considering what they are facing now and in the immediate future; it's the scum, like they have in Mississippi, that are literally climbing over dead bodies of homeowners as the water subsides to steal the belongings of the deceased, as well as the murderers in New Orleans trying to prevent people from getting needed medical aid and rescue that need to find out first-hand what a Head Shot is)

At this point martial law needs to be declared and the army should be brought in to restore order.
This is a drastic step, but these are terrible times in the Big Easy...

They need to declare martial law...that will solve the problem of the shooters and the looters...

Martial Law has been declared in some parts. I say OPEN FIRE on all looters with a very small exception being those that are just taking food for themselves.

...and he's not talking about the kind models and actors hand out, either.

It's baffling that people can be this ignorant, especially knowing that I have a reservist that works for me that is on standby to go down there and help out.

that's horrrible!

it's like my dog tring to bite my hand when i give him food.
granted, he doesn't know any better because he's stupid, but these people, come on!

my dog is small, but has a huge thingie (not neutered).
surprisingly, he doesn't hump stuff.

This is just horrible...

I don't even see the reasoning in shooting at someone that is trying to rescue you. I saw this on the news this morning before school. They only did a little blip on it, but it was mentioned. I hope alot of people down there get arrested, so many people are breaking the law. I also saw on the news that New Orleans is going to set 1500 LEOs to put a stop to all the looting. Of course that's less people to help rescue, but atleast order will start being restored.

If I'm not mistaken the last time active military had shooting orders on civilians was 1973. Just an FYI.

From talking with my father (we used to live in Slidell, LA) when Camil (sp)
came through he remembers Martial Law being declared and all the military jeeps driving around with the mounted guns on the back. To his memory things settled down shortly thereafter some looters got shot.

this is not something new, here in chicago some of the lowlifes that live in subsidized housing shoot at the ambulance drivers when they answer a distress call. how can anyone rationalize this sort of behavior, but it happens ??? .
