My son's appartment got B&E'ed yesterday. There was a lap top, hundreds of video games, flat screen TV etc. etc. None of this was stolen. The only thing missing was his condoms. WTF? Who would risk 2 to 5 for condoms?

Doc.

Well, Moki just had a baby. :whistling:

Check around some more. Maybe he's missing something else and hasn't noticed yet. We had a break in at out auto shop, and as far as we could tell nothing was missing, but then my dad noticed that there was a check missing from his checkbook, all the way in the back. Whoever broke in apparently figured they couldn't carry much, so they took a check, in order to use the account number for fraud. My dad closed the account and got new checks.

Same goes for credit cards. Folks that break in will also write credit card numbers down along with the little 3 digit deal on the back. Assuming he wasn't there, then he probably had the cards on him, but still....account numbers and whatnot could have been compromised.

Sounds personal to me...Some sort of ex possibly.

I was just thinking the same---that's a PO'd ex-girlfriend kind of stunt.

Had my car windows scribbled all over with red lipstick once, all of it begging me for a 2nd chance. Rather explicitly. In the parking lot of the SCHOOL where I teach. Women get stone bugnutz crazy sometimes.

Probably an ex finds out he's messing with some girl who has some kind of STD. So the ex breaks in, steals condoms, banking on the possibilities of raw fornication later on, thus exposing high risk of contracting whatever STD said girl has

The is not right Doc and I am sorry for your son.

That said: I would not do that to a guy even for one of AVB's cigar girls and I have to agree with Los and everyone else about the Ex.

I had this happen to me in Detroit. It is not fun.

Much care,

That is strange, risking 2 to 5 on a B&E charge, for a box of freakin' condoms. He lives in a dorm, right? I'm going with serious prank with a pissed off friend, but the condoms make me believe it's a female friend.

Kinda agree with souldog here. Sounds like someone trying to make a point.... Still scary shit.

If I was him and he suspects a girl or girlfriend of some sort, I would make up with them, and then find a way to ever so gently get rid of them....sounds a bit on the pyscho side to me. :o

My understanding is that most b&e perps are looking for cash, jewelry, and small valuables they can easily stuff in their pockets. A flat screen TV doesn't fit that bill. The morons who broke into your son's place may be been looking for cash, not found it, and just grabbed the condoms for the hell of it when they didn't find what they wanted. Just a theory.

In the event it isn't a psycho hosebeast or a malicious pal, the intruder may have simply been checking the place out to see what he'll need to do in order to totally clean the place out.

My brother is a college student and his place was broken into on three consecutive Saturday nights a few months ago. People who do that kind of thing aren't exactly rational operators, so don't go trying to ascribe too much logic to the situation. He needs to remain on his toes...
