I called Kenny a jackass, yes, this was rude. Let me take this moment to  apologize, I shouldn't have taken things to such a childish level. I don't know, I remember bigmac and another poor soul being chased from thread to thread about their wrongs. Whenever they tried to post, someone would follow and keep dragging stuff up. At least that isn't happening to you by someone and their vengeful friends. I think biggie wanted things dropped, but I don't remember people being too accomodating about that.

Yes, you did say something. A sarcastic comment is one that makes a statement through inference. You invited people to share what that inference was by using the word "imagine" in your first thread. You can't ask them to "imagine" what your thoughts were on this and not expect a response. I don't buy the apology at all, you're just embarrassed because people caught you on something and you don't like the position that you are in now. You've apologized, but still admit nothing. That shows that you aren't sorry for what you called him, you are sorry that you somehow got yourself pinned down to this and can't wiggle out of it so easy. By inviting people to "imagine" what you think, then telling them to "STFU," as well as then telling them to forget it, how can you honestly expect them to just drop it?? And besides, what do you care what other people post on a public thread? Why would we presume that you want this to just drop anyways? After all, twice you said you were making your last comments and that wasn't the case in either post. So if you aren't going to drop it........

I have explained myself, repeatedly, and I have apologized, repeatedly, that is really all I can do. Believe it, or not, frankly it doesn't matter, it wasn't you I was apologizing to.

This is a sad sad story. I love hunting although I really don't get a chance to anymore. Some of my best childhood memories is going hunting and fishing with my step dad. This crazed guy brought devestation to many families and he should be drug backwards through a cornfield and then strapped to one of those antpiles you see on the discovery channel. As far as the SKS, every state has different laws on magazine capacity. I would like to have a little more knockdown power (30-06). Another thing that upset me about this story is the fact that they have told the other people of his race to not hunt for the rest of the season. Just because they had this one wacko the rest of his race shouldn't suffer for it. All I can do is raise my children not to be racist and send them to hunter safety. Good hunting to all, and better fishing to me

Now, about the current situation. Jason posted a baiting comment. The hunter dudes (Kenny & company) called him on it. Jason began fighting a rearguard action and the hunter dudes (Kenny & company) continued with flanking movements. Sound tactics in my opinion.

The news and politics thread was closed for a reason, and this illustrates why. It wasn't just a politics thread, it was the NEWS and politics thread. For awhile now, news and political topics have been posted in the lobby when they shouldn't have been in the first place. I've made some sarcastic references on a few of them about the thread being re-opened, but apparently some folks aren't getting the clue. I'll be sure and be more straightforward in the future should it continue. :sneaky: Rod gave us a chance, and we all blew it. However, that doesn't mean that a few members of this community should take it upon themselves to somehow turn the lobby into a mini-board of news and political happenings. Hopefully these kinds of posts will stop and we won't have to worry about CP members fighting due to a NEWS (and politics) issue.

I posted this thread and link because I know there are a few avid hunters here. I also know there are a few from WI. If it is going to be taboo to post subjects in the Lobby, then why bother having the Lobby. I did not post this to start anything, nor do I THINK I am being referred to in the post, but I have to wonder.

The Politics side of the NEWS and POLITICS forum was pretty entertaining. Yeah, some people got their feathers ruffled, and some were even singled out and picked on. But, I think all came out of it unscathed. Posting opinions in a public forum will do that from time to time. But, saying not to post things because they might stir up some trouble seems to really make things pretty boring.

I find this site to be both informative and entertaining. I enjoy logging in and reading some of the things that people have to say. It's a way I can interact with people that are like minded without actually calling them or going over to their house.

I think that only talking about the blend of certain cigars, which ring gauge offers the most smoke, and who has a 5er of XXX to offer is pretty bland. But, that is just me. I think that the peripheral discussions on this board make it really what it is. A place for like minds to congregate and enjoy what we have in common and discuss some 'other' things. But, maybe I am wrong.

If posting this thread caused this heartache, I apologize. I started it and I will take responsibility for it. For those that were offended, I offer you my deepest apologies for starting a thread that caused you to be offended. For those that actually posted the inflammatory comments, I apologize to you for providing the environment for it to happen and for enabling you to exhibit anti-social behavior.

To all...........I apologize. To think, in light of the world's events today, that people in a free society, with the freedom of expression, would choose to use it in such a manner as to belittle their fellow BOTLs, and I am to blame for starting it.

I am going to go home today (at 12:30PM - minimum day at school today) and actually study my CI, Famous, and JR catalogs. Not just look at them and drool, but actually study them. I like this forum and I feel if I am going to contribute anything worth while here in the future, I'd better know the standard and metric measurements of all the smokes that could possibly be discussed. I'm going to need to know the actual subtle differences between honduran and nicuraguan tobacco so that I may be able to enter a meaningful discussion. And I need to know the wholesale, MSRP, retail, and intrinsic value of all smokes so that I may be informed for the next pass I might want to join.

Sounds to me like my Thanksgiving Holiday will be filled with busy work. Instead of sitting back and relaxing, enjoying my family, a few choice smokes, and being thankful for what this country has provided me and mine.

Well.......wait...............matter of fact, screw that.

All of you that are not mature enough to be involved in an adult conversation about something you may not agree with.............grow up. And this holiday is perfect for reflecting upon the very reason there is an adult table and a kid's table.

All of you enjoy your family and friends this weekend. Smoke some sticks, whether they are Domestics or Cubans, highline or yard gars..........just enjoy yourselves. I know I'm going to.

Glad to see someone saw it as it was, although I wouldnt characterize me as a victim per se, I was to blame for some of the flaming. I just will not take all the blame because it was started by some1 else I just escalated it, and then the piling on began and as far as that goes you hit the nail on the head. Thanks for calling a spade a spade. ;)

You shouldn't feel any blame. I should, as should several others. I don't think anyone was offended by what you actually posted. It's unfortunate that no topic which is even mildly controversial can be discussed on CP in a civil manner.
 
This **** has got to end. You're all adults, ACT LIKE IT! I'm tired of the arguing. We will maintain a lobby, and controversial subjects (I wouldn't consider this subject anywhere near controversal, but that's just me) can and will be discussed. We simply have a no political discussion rule only because I don't feel like being bothered with "he's picking on me, he said that, he said I'm an asshole, they're being mean to me, tell them to stop picking on me!!!...". I don't have time to deal with that childish crap and bitching, therefore, no politics. If you can't resolve an issue behind the scenes, then deal with it and move on. DON'T MAKE IT PUBLIC! I come to CP to get away from the day to day **** I have to deal with, so the last thing I want to see is arguing. That's why I created this site, so I don't have to deal with what goes on in most other forums.

Everyone act like an adult or leave. I'm not your mother, nor do I want to be. I'm not here to defend anyone. I try to keep this forum as unmoderated as possible. If you feel you can't act like an adult or you feel you are going to be offended easily, then don't come into the lobby. Better yet, don't join those discussions that are "touchy".

This post is not directed to anyone in particular. To be honest, I haven't even read this entire thread all that thoroughly, simply because I have better things to do with CP than read bull****.

Some of you really don't understand that life really is too short. In the world we live in today, life really is too short... Everyone needs to slow down and think to themselves, is arguing and bitching really worth my time? I don't think it is...
