More Opus/GOF Than I've Ever Seen!

Are we is doing what the is more to look like?

What?

Congrats. You know how to edit quotes and make it seem like I said something I didn't.

That said, I still don't see what the big stink is here. I told folks what and where I saw something I thought was interesting. I gave them MY evaluation of them, and offered to pick some up for them if THEY wanted. I wasn't making money, I wasn't even the one selling them. I was just posting a find that I THOUGHT people would be happy about. As of today, I have not seen any proof of what you claim Carlito to have said... nor do I know how insight would magically have one of these cause he didn't have me pick him up one.
Look, it's a simple case of "If you didn't want one, you didn't have to order one." The two people that DID have me pick stuff up for them seem pretty happy. The last time I found some special Opus at a different store in SC and posted and picked up for people... those people were also pretty dang happy. But ya know what, next time I see something interesting I'm just not going to bother posting it. A group of guys on this forum have a distinct ability to turn anything negative and make people regret trying to be nice and help out.
Chris

Be nice all you want. But when it comes to passing fake ass cigars being passed around to people by someone claiming they are legit, then it becomes a problem. Think what you want of them, but there has been more than enough evidence to know these are BS.

Really, you have no ida how I would get one without your help? Then you are a probably a moron and haven't been paying attention at all. Carlito's response is recorded in the thread from CF, you knw, his board, linked in post #38 of this thread. Maybe I got mine from one of the dozens of people in that thread (hint: it wasn't via magic like you suggest but using usps). The big deal is circulating bogus shit, have you even read this thread?

Pretty cigars.

Just a bit difficult for me today to pay thoses prices. Wish they were closer to the $25.00 mark.

They are great cigars. No doubt.

Wisdom dictates that instead of getting insulted, you should just realize it is for the universal good if you followed advice and just went with the flow.

Questioning authenticity is a given. In fact it is a must when we are dealing with any luxury, highly sought after item.

What really concerns me is that you have been here long enough to know that things will be questioned.

In addition, you have also been here long enough to know that we should never offer up anything of which we are not 100% sure of authenticity.

How sure are you?

Excellent post Dan.

I haven't reread the thread but I am pretty sure no one was originally insinuating that the OP was trying to profiteer or knowingly pass on fake cigars. However, the refusal of the OP to believe that the cigar shop was being dishonest is amazing. As Insight stated, Carlito answered in a public forum. To further that, what are the chances of some random shop getting these exclusive cigars with no fan-fare when places like Casa Fuente and TS did not?

When you go back and reread a lot of threads of this nature you see a lot of talk about certain guys "jumping down someone throat", the irony is the vast majority of times they are right.

Sorry, I must have missed the post linking to the other thread. So no, I hadn't read that. And no, I'm not a member over there so there's another reason I missed it. And I'm not trying to pass off fake cigars as real. I also know that stuff gets questioned, and I agree with that policy. But to personally attack me for simply showing what I found and giving my personal evaluation of them... that's ridiculous. Nowhere in here did I say they are real, I said what I THOUGHT. I only started taking offense when the personal attacks started happening when all I was doing was tryna help source some nice smokes to some folks. If you go read the beginning, this ISN'T a thread about Opus Maddie Sharks, this is a thread about me having found a store with some HTF Opus. That's all.

Look, I'm all for ensuring authenticity and the like. Trust me, I don't like getting screwed either. But there's no need for things to take the turn that they have when all someone is trying to do is share a find. There are ways to ensure forum safety without being assholes. Go read the original post it's pretty easy to see that there was malicious intention.

Once you made your pompous post stating the only way I could source a fake opus was through you or by using magic it became pretty clear that you knew all about ways to ensure forum safety without being an asshole, as you so eloquently put it. You're the man. Would you like to teach me about how to deal with scumbags because I could really use some polite pointers?

They aren't selling anejo sharks at 2x MSRP....look at the labels/ bands in the photos...they are selling Opus Sharks at $28.95 (actually pretty spot on with MSRP). I've never heard/ seen Opus Shark Maduros...so I'm having Chris pick me up a couple so I can inspect them..

Opus X Shark Maduros do not exist.

The ones that some retailers have been selling are just Añejo Sharks with the bands and red ribbon taken off, and an Opus X band placed on them (and a much higher price).

Caveat emptor.

We discovered that...and came to that conclusion long ago.

I think my post might have been misinterpreted here, I never claimed these legitimate.

What I simply meant by the post above was that IF they were real...the pricing would be spot on with what REAL opus sharks go for.

Just like Phil picked one up for inspection, I did the same to satisfy my own curiosity. So I spent an extra $13 on a Anejo Shark to gain some knowledge, and do my own comparisons...no biggy, IMO.

Jake fwiw I think he just quoted your post for context, it was pretty clear (to me, at least) you were buying for curiosity's sake without any horse in the race.

Everyone must have forgotten how he was a dick before he went away for a while and decided to come back and post some more in the past few months. Can't remember exactly what it was, don't feel like searching it out, but I was involved somehow...imagine that.

This post was originally an explanation of what jonesy is referring to and why insight is always after me. But let's be honest, I don't owe shut for an explanation. This place used to be fun, and if this is what folks get for sharing a find that just happens to include one fake cigar at an OFFICIAL opus dealer that should be trustable? Well, then this is just hilarious. Have fun bein the cp attack dog Phil. All the best folks! Won't have to deal with me anymore
:)

This falls under the pemjoke rule, yes?

With all due respect Rod I don't see it.

I see Verhoevc getting all defensive claiming Phil is playing CP watchdog police and personally attacking him. ???

All I see is him trying to protect the community and "Questioning" what does not look right in a respectful manner, with everyone else chiming in trying to get Chris to see what we all find painfully obvious.

Hey John,

There was a comment made in which I PM'd the respective party about, and has been resolved.

I also just recently (as in about an hour ago) learned a bit more about some of the behind-the-scene events that have occurred. Thanks for filling me in on the details, you know who you are. ;)

Carry on...
