Well, with all the chatter about music on here lately, I figured I would share this with everyone.

I saw this on a refurb deal from Ben's ($99 including shipping) during the week and after reading some online reviews, decided to grab one. I half-assed wanted a wireless speaker system but didn't want to pony up the money asked for something really good that I may or may not have liked....this was a cheap way to test it out. I received it yesterday, charged the battery, and fired it up this morning....and from the moment it started playing...I'm freakin' out!

My laptop has Bluetooth built in so all I had to do was the same setup as a wireless headset. It recognized and paired with it instantly, I brought up Windows media player on the computer, picked a song and BAM...music! The thing I'm freaking over is the sound...incredible for something so small, seriously. Decent bass and the mids & highs are crisp and clear...totally exceeded my expectations. It also comes with a USB doggle to connect to any device with a USB port, I put that in my desktop and that paired just as quickly and played perfectly. It even has a lttle remote that slides into the back of the speaker that will control the computer's software to change songs, adjust volume, mute, power ON/OFF, etc.

My thought was to have portable music on the back deck, my front porch, and cigar room...all wireless and able to draw from the thousands of songs on my computers, iPad, iPod, and to stream from my phone. It couldn't have worked out any better!

Now it's time to walk around the house to see how the range is....

I really can see the value in wireless speakers, but I hate to give up the fantastic range of my Klipsch Chorus II's. They have belted out some fantastic tunes over the years. I drive them with a Denon Tuner and although the system is getting old, I just don't think I can beat it for sound reproduction. Like you, I love my tunes, and I still love them loud.

I have this LINK attached to my home theater and I LOVE It. The Sound quality isn't amazing but its pretty good, and spray from the hose or a splash from the hot tub isn't going to effect it.

So......the 'Boom Box' is back?

YES!...at least in Toms River, NJ it's alive & well

Kinda cool firing up one of my computers, linking to the boom box...and walking around the house and listening to tunes. It works upstairs, outside in my backyard and on my front porch...all cigars smoking zones!

It certainly won't take the place of my big system, just the fact that it sounds good, it's light/portable, wireless, and has great battery life makes it a great new toy. I can't wait to take it to the beach!

This might be a dumb question, but can this work with some of the newer TV's? I have a new 3d Samsung Plasma, and I would like to use this speak with the TV. Will it work, and is it a good application?

Do you have a receiver hooked up to your TV?? I have mine running out of my receiver so I can listen to the TV from the porch and radio and whatever. If not I am sure your TV has an Audio out you could hook it up to.

No I do not have a receiver - I thought the whole idea was wireless - I was hoping I could just pair the wireless speaker with my TV. That might be wishful thinking on my part.

Yea, I can see him now, cruising the Boardwalk for chicks, singing along to Pagliacci.

Doc

It is wireless but Samsung doesn't do Midi out they only do Optical out (without knowing the model of your TV) and neither speaker listed above would receive optical in. My setup is my TV outputs to my receiver which controls my surround sound and such, then I output from the receiver to the wireless speaker because the speakers come with an RCA to Midi converter and the receiver outputs RCA no problem. Does that make sense?? I am sure there are guys on here that are much much smarter than myself in audio/video but I don't see any way to throw straight from optical to a speaker.

Come on...I do have to sleep sometimes, and with this running in my head..............it ain't gonna happen! :0
