Medical Cannabis

For medical purposes? Definitely legalize it. It works like nothing else, especially for cancer patients. The synthetics aren't worth the powder to blow them to hell.

Welcome back BoTL, been a little while it appears, glad to see you around again.

But this may be a touchy or controversial subject ???

Sure! Why not!

The herb does definitely does have some medical benefits even though I'm sure that most people that play the medical card really don't truly use it for that reason. The war on drugs has failed miserably and is just another form of prohibition.

To each his own I say, and moderation just like anything else in life. There are far more people in this world dying from the ravages of alcohol than from Marijuana.

Could not have said it better.

In a word, yes. But like the word abortion, it carries a stigma that we have not found a politically correct way of getting around yet. No one will argue that I am about the oldest goat here in the herd, so I can remember when you wondered what were under tight sweaters. Now we have panties and bra commercials galore and no more mistery. It has taken years for what we thought would never happen, to happen. In time someone will have the stones to see the benefits of taxing pot. Then maybe the post office can stop raising the price of stamps.

Typo fix, of course.

Have you ever seen those tightly packed bricks of weed coming from Mexico and Colombia? Stuff is junk. But I grew up seeing it grown in everything from lava tubes, mountain tops, and backyards.
I'd rather legalize it and have people that care about their business product, the money will still follow. Plus, the taxes paid on everything associated with it will help.

"Legalize it...and I will advertise it". Welcome back!

YES. This is a great way to say it pugman.

Not just for medical purposes, legalize it for industry and for the farmers as well!

Well maybe it's because I live in Quebec but here it's tolerated and there is always a public discussion once or twice a year about legalisation.
So fom my stand point it's not controversial but it is a subject of heated discussions ever now and then.

I have heard of too many folks who have benefitted from it's use. Unfortunately, this, like so many other things in life, is subject to the whims of "Do-Gooders" without a clue, and Politicians. Think of the money that would go back into buying consumer goods and groceries if folks grew their own.

Keep this in mind when pondering this question: At this very moment hundreds, if not thousands of people, are dying from the ravages of alcohol. No one is dying from marijuana.

I've watched several family members and friends be ravaged by cancer, including my dad who has beat it twice. If they would've told me crack cocaine helped control their pain, I would've got it for them. None of the people I knew used marijuana to control the pain, but if they would've, I wouldn't have batted an eye at their decision.

Exactly. Commercial hemp needs no pesticides or fertilizers, and can replace almost everything we currently use oil and petrochemicals to produce. Time to fix that wrong turn the Industrial Revolution took when it backed fossil fuel!

I have a couple friends who wouldn't be alive, most likely, if not for the medical benefits of marijuana.

And the gods know we sure could use the tax revenue! Medical, schmedical. Just legalize it.
