Any Peloton Bike riders?

I just point my exercise bike at my iMac & queue up an Anthony Bourdain episode. I've done all 12 seasons of Parts Unknown and now I'm working backwards through No Reservations. I guess when I finish I'll just start over.

Works for me, though. Great way to start the day.

Looking forward to #3 after work.....

How’s your weight loss going Boar?

#3 20 min beginner ride with CDE....

Is it bad that I am spent after only 20 minutes????

To be honest this week is just about being on the bike. Next week I am adding a core work out before the ride, and will step up the intensity.

I’ve had an Air Assault bike for years https://www.roguefitness.com/assault-airbike-and-accessories

I ride it 30-60 minutes a day 5 days a week. (I’m an old guy with a bad knee). I’ve had a few stationary bikes and this one works best for me.

Not to hijack the thread, but I’ve been looking for some stand alone spinning virtual reality software for a device like Oculus Rift, something not tied to the bike. virZOOM makes a system but it’s incorporated into their bike.

Up and down.

Dropped 30, got the flu, stopped cycling for a week, put 10 back on. FML!

Spring Break coming up in a week. I'm going to do a daily cardio/gym spree with split workouts (chest/triceps, lats/biceps, legs/abs, repeat) and low-cal/low fat protein shakes to try to get back in the groove.

Did a 20 min with Emma....she is easy to ride with if ya know what I mean...

This week and next are single ride days, but my schedule is changing after the 18th so I am looking for a few days I can double up.

So far at least one ride every day we have had the bike, and this morning my ass didn't feel like I spent the night in jail.....

I know, but I went through this when I used to road ride too, takes me a week or so to get used to it.

I am going to the Peloton Showroom in Denver this weekend to make sure I am fit to the bike correctly.

Can't seem to find the sweet spot in seat height, or I have some other adjustment out of whack that keep my knees from feeling right.

Remember if you are using cleats and spd pedals you also have to get them aligned as well. If you think saddles make a difference wait till you get into cleat alignment.

Look Delta cleats.... taking them with me to the fitting as well.

1st 30 min class...hard, but felt good...(Emma, low impact)

Next ride will be 30 min (CDE, low impact)

My bike set up is slightly different from my spin bike. I use Keywin pedals with an older pair of Shimano shoes.

Sounds like you're hooked, good luck with your training.

StatHaldol's Oculus Rift mention brings to mind an idea I've had for over 25 years .... the technology wasn't even close to there when it occurred to me, but it feels like all the parts are there now, just not combined yet.

The thing is, a personal trainer on a screen would likely just annoy the living f*ck out of me. I'm so not a people person!

Also I've been working out since I was 12. I may be in crappy shape, and not having a thyroid anymore means I'll probably never look like I know what I'm doing, ever again, but .... my body tells me what it needs better than any trainer ever will.

So anyway.

Google Maps has street view, right? What about a scenic display that you move through at the speed you're pedaling? (or on a treadmill, running?) Maybe even with a programming interface that adjusts resistance to video terrain, so that if you're going up a hill in the video, pedaling gets harder?

You could have video libraries of famous streets, trails, bike races (like doing a section of the Tour de France) and the experience would feel like cycling through the actual locations ..... right down to how fast you're going.

Any really techy bros on here, you owe me cigars when you take it to market. ;)

NordicTrack is doing this. They use Google elevation data to adjust the pitch of their bike at least

I went and had a look at their site----interesting! They're very short on details & there's no demo, or any indication it's synched to pedal speed, but it's a start. Now, just give me synching & a much bigger display . . . .

As it stands right now, I really like CDE's quite calm. Emma has a bit more energy, but I exceeded my output on her ride with the CDE ride.
Emma is much easier to look at.....I need to try a few others out, might just have to bight a bullet and do the 45 all for one ride.....

New compression pants get here tomorrow.....who doesn't love a grown man in spandex......
