Ok, valid question here.......

Not gonna lie here. Wife gets ‘ideas’ and buys stuff but I’m the one that either puts them up or motivates her to do it. So, I usually put my tree up in early December. And just leave it up till it starts getting warmer, so like May

With my wife unemployed, I'm surprised it isn't up already (she slowly going crazy from boredom 😂 ). She was in the den creating her master spreadsheet of Christmas presents yesterday, so I'm sure it will be soon. She lets me buy cigars, guns, snowboards, etc and doesn't ever really bat an eye, so I'll deal with some annoying lights she wants me to put up!

I've been stuck in this downstairs room for a month, now. I literally have not seen the rest of the house since I got home from the hospital. I'm sure once I finally get out of here, the house will put a Trans-Siberian Orchestra stage show to shame. She deserves it after keeping it all together recently.

As long as she is the one putting it up and taking it down!

The wife wants to decorate next weekend, as we'll have her mother staying with us the 2 weeks during and after Thanksgiving because she's having a hip replacement on the 24th and lives alone an hour and a half away from us, so she can't be home alone after her surgery.

Great now I have "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" stuck in my head.

My wife wanted me to put up the lights on the roof this past weekend, ‘unfortunately’ I lent my boss my 24’ so I was unable to do it. What a shame... I’m usually very firm about decorations not going up until the day after thanksgiving and being torn down before New Years, but my wife’s been super stressed at work lately and it makes her happy so I’m gonna surprise her this weekend 😎

For some time, the wife will get everything queued up and right after the Thanksgiving dinner dishes are cleared (and the Hot Buttered Rum's made), she directs like a pro, getting our kids to put everything up. She's pretty enthusiastic, some things may go out before Thanksgiving as she chooses. Works fine for me..!!

I don't put up a fight at all.....if we aren't the ones hosting Thanksgiving, then she can decorate however she feels necessary. I rarely get asked to help except for the tree.

If we are hosting Thanksgiving, then typically we'll wait until after that, but again....it's because my wife wants to wait after then anyway.

In short.....I don't care enough to have an opinion on it in the house either way. I can tell you this.....when those Christmas decorations go up, my bourbon and red wine intake increases 10 fold. Something about the season and weather than make good drinks even better.

Edited because some of my comments didn't come in right first go at it.

What is your recipe for the Hot buttered rum? I have been meaning to try this, with Whiskey probably. I found these what sound really easy, since you make most of it ahead of time.
