I texted you, Bill, but figured I'd put it here for posterity, too.

Ok, I honestly don’t remember enough of the notes and such of the first one, though I do remember that although great, it was sort of one-dimensional and very light to me. I enjoyed this one immensely. It was still pretty light, but very flavorful, and it evolved as I smoked it. The first third was sweet and smokey-flavored with definite pepper (white, I want to say — but I’m not as good of a gourmand as some of the others to pick this stuff out). As it went on, I got a lot of caramel’s notes, and it continued to have a smoked undertone. As it got closer to the end, it became pretty woody… oaky, maybe? Definitely that and cedar. The sweet caramel went in and out. Toward the end I started getting some lip tingle from it, too. This was definitely a better overall smoke than the last one, IMHO. I have two more, and I’ll be looking back on these notes before and after I smoke them to see how they hold up, consistency-wise.

Immediately after, I smoked a Partagas Short that I had in the dry box for two or three days, just to see how a fresh CC compared (and because It was more readily accessible than digging for a new PLPC from the back of the fridgidor). I know it would be a different profile, but gave it a go. The cold draw was unremarkable. I really didn’t get any flavors from it at all. Upon lighting, it was incredible — rich and creamy. However, there was a distinct difference in the tobacco. I don’t want to say “harshness”, because I’d reserve that for an NC if compared, but the tannins were definitely more prevalent, and it was less smooth than the PLPC. It remained rich with that CC creaminess, throughout. I had to touch up one side a few time, however. Thank you for letting me try this, and I look forward to seeing how the other two stack up to this one!
