Ashtrays

I have an idea.... It would appear we have a number of talented fabricators right here!

Hey @Shootr could I commission a cigar ashtray with 4 rests?
Sorry, just saw this - whatcha looking for? What other interests do you have (sports, vehicles, etc)?

I like motorcycles, all types. My vehicle ashtray is a piston from a 70s Yamaha DT200 motor. I am a car guy mostly Ford and Chevrolet. I like all things eccentric and eclectic. I also have an eye for the occult, and of course all things cigar!

I'm looking for a free standing 3+ cigar ashtray for the garage and sometimes outside. Does not need to be weather proof.

Let me run a couple things by you to narrow down your vision:

Elegant-ish?

Or rough and tumble (rat-roddish)?

Vehicle parts: yeah, no, eh.

Ashtray only or drink stand also?

Height?

Abstract or recognizable parts?

Wanna really go nuts? I got a genuine fire hydrant lol:

The one in my previous post is still available - that was a listing pic.

What’s the orange bucket full of in the first picture?
Discarded steel grinding balls from a ball mill at a copper mine. That bucket weighs about 300lbs. The spikes - no idea - come from the same place but haven't found anyone that can tell me what they are. I'm using them as bicks for metal forming.

@Shootr thanks for the ideas! I like look of the table, but glass is a no go. Ash tray, glass holder would be a great idea as well.

Rat rod look is something I have always loved, my last bike was a bobber rat rod inspired look. Black, red and rough.

Try walking with 'em...

Give me a week or two - couple little projects to square away. I'll put something together and see what you think.

On the glass table - the glass is just held on with cam caps so it's removable. There's a steel plate under it centered on the camshaft. It'd be a little small for drinks and an ashtray though.

Never really responded to this, but yes I do like the removable glass. Could swap it with a nice piece of hardwood maybe?

Those are Bendix - they're cast stronger than "regular" drums. Got those from the Amazon scratch & dent department - a whole $4/ea! I used them for my bench grinder and anvil stands - holding up great.

Nice, I'm in.

How do you feel about corny keys?

About the right height, could be brought to a matte brushed finish possibly, some kind of top, bowl ashtray in the center...

Just thinking out loud.

Those are cool for sure, if the material is aluminum or ss would it be hard to mate to other metal?
