For once, knowledge is making me poor!
I looked, albeit not too hard, and didn't find a thread of this nature so...........
I think it would be helpful to share the things we have all come across which work the best for us. Then we can all check things out here to see if there is a recommendation for what we are contemplating. Be sure to provide some dialog.
For example:
Without question, the best pocket knife I've ever had. The blades are literally a scalpel and the knife is sturdy. I can gut and skin a deer with one blade and use the below sharpener to put a razor edge back on it or replace the blade....... and deer hide dulls a knife faster than anything I've ever encountered.
Caution! Handle with care, these are very sharp!

This knife sharpener is the best I've tried and I've tried damn near everything! The curved edge allows you to maintain a consistent angle throughout the length of the blade. I use dish soap as a lubricant because it allows the diamond crust to cut better and it prevents pore clogging. One or two swipes and a kitchen knife is back to sharp.
