El Cheapo Smoke of the Day

Oct '25 Victor Sinclair Triple Corojo - Churchill. I got a stash of these delivered to the house for $2.11 each. A box of 20 will set you back $55 at Cigars International today.

Dominican, with Corojo wrapper, filler, and binder.

Medium/full with above average pepper. Light draw. Well behaved.

Watch the sales - I've bought these for as little as $1.40 and as much as $2. The latest batch came in at $1.82, delivered.

These are excellent budget medium mixed-filler sticks.

Oct '25 $2.11 Victor Sinclair 55 Imperial Maduro - Churchill.

Dominican, with Honduran filler and Mexican binder. Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro wrapper. Also available in Connecticut, Habano, and Corojo wrappers.

Medium/full.

I've tried these in Maduro and Habano. Meh. Has anyone else tried these Victor Sinclair Imperial 55 series sticks ? There are several VS cigars that I like, but these aren't one of them.

Have you also tried the Montecristo by AJ Fernandez? And if so, how would you compare the two?

This one ? If so then yes. They're both good sticks but I prefer the Espada because it is a notch closer to "medium" than the Nicaragua series. The Nicaragua Series is a bit more full bodied and has a bit more spice. This one was in the same sampler. :)
The Espada is also available with an Oscuro wrapper but I haven't tried them.

Thank you for the info. I enjoyed the AJ, but from your description, it sounds like the Espada is even more my speed. I'll have to keep an eye out!

The Espada and Espada Oscuro are both rolled by Plasencia, and they taste like it IMO. I like them both but prefer the Oscuro.

I've not had that AJ Monte Nicaragua. I have had the Monte 1935 by AJ (not a fan) and the Diamante also by AJ (I like that one), and find the Espadas to have a rounder, more balanced flavor profile.
