Thinking of quitting smoking

smoke less often. I consider cigar smoking a treat, I don't rush it or smoke in the car or when I only have half an hours time, I only smoke when I can relax and fully enjoy it. Also, if you smoke less you can use the same money to buy fewer, but better quality cigars.

also, I find a lot of they newer cigars very strong and spicy and they tend to mangle the palate, no balance and all strength. Try smoking just one or two cigars a week for a few months, I guarantee you will look forward to those cigars more.

I concur -- I smoke once or twice a week (depending, of course), so it's something to look forward to.

Yep. Sometimes I do take a little time off. By the time I'm jonesin' for a cigar again, my body's usually telling me I'm ready to get back on the horse.

Wilkey

I've found that the times that I've cut down my cigar intake, I enjoy the smoking experience more. Actually, that doesn't just pertain to smoking. Moderation is a good thing, but is often a challenge for me. :D

At any rate, I too got to a point a while back when I was finding that smoking a cigar just wasn't as enjoyable as it once was. Instead of quitting, I decided to step it up a notch and smoke better cigars... problem solved. However, my monthly cigar budget is twice what it once was - don't tell my wife. :whistling:

Or go this way.... it works also... but then what happens when you get burnt out on expensive smokes.

I am also thinking of cutting back. The last few cigars I smoked have not been very enjoyable. I feel like 2-3 weeks of no smoking should help me enjoy them more when I do smoke.

...Don't cut back - just be more snobbish... Smokin' nice cigars in the first place will not ruin your palate... ;)
