It was a nice warm summer day. I was spending time away from the office on leave, in my backyard doing some mundane weed pulling. The phone rang, my co-worker was on the other line, frantically calling...

"DAVE!!! REPORT TO COMMAND NOW!!! MOS DOWN, WE ARE REQUESTING ALL OFF DUTY TO REPORT IMMEDIATELY!!! INCLUDING YOU!!!"

I hurried over to my office only to find a huge gaping hole where the front door had been. Forensics team had already been there examining the damage. Debris everywhere, body parts strewn left and right. Some serious splash damage. My heart started pounding. Co-workers whom I didn't even like had fallen and I don't even know if I was happy they are gone or distraught now that more work will be piled on my desk until replacements arrive. One of my superiors addressed me.

"Dave, our Command had been hit. The CO is down. We need you to be aware of the situation when you return from leave. For now we are investigating the incident, and it was an incendiary device."

I assessed the situation. 10 casualties, 4 injured. Whomever had done this is one ruthless...

"Dave, here it is." They had brought me the remains of the explosive device. It had my name on it.... It was meant for me. Was I lucky to have been away? Was this a ploy to throw off the investigators into thinking that this hit served some higher purpose in some grandiose scheme? Who could have done such a....

I then saw another name on the container. It was that of the sender....

No, it was meant for me...

"It was meant for me...."

"It was meant for me......" [Sobbing noises and dramatic music]

Somebody has to pay.

That somebody is.... STRAYVECTOR!!!!!

LOL  Well done, Sam.

So Dave, have you smoked any of those counterfeits I sent you? ;)

Wilkey

Strayvector, also the keeper of the greatest avator ever.

Dude, I was taking a call when I opened your thread and got tripped out a little. I first looked to see if you were stationed in Iraq (think of how f.d up that is), then came to where you mention you weren't sure if you should care about your fellow dead co-workers.

"Christ, he's talking about cigars."

You could give Tom Clancy a run for his money.

Great story dave. That has to be one of the most creative storytelling of a bomb ever. Sorry it took me so long to respond, somehow I missed this and you PM. Enjoy the smokes brother. Thanks again for coming out in NYC. Always a pleasure to meet up with you.

Yes, I have actually. Not my cup of tea.
Ahh,

How did they compare to other cigars you've had? Did they smoke badly? Did they remind you of anything in particular?

I don't imagine they're most folks cup of tea...at least once they realize they are counterfeit.
