Cigars and Food

But when you smoke, you can always brush your teth and tongue to avoid dead because of nicotine, but what to do when you swallow it? stomach flusch?

:sign:

Nicotine goes right through your skin, directly into your blood. So brushing your teeth and tounge isn't going to help at all.

So stop worrying about it.
Right on.

You are all weird. ???

Eat and smoke at the same time... I can't do it.

Brian
I wouldn't have thought it would work either, but it seems a logical extension of drink-smoke to eat-drink-smoke.

Speaking of weird...
I found that I enjoy cheese really make a smoke enjoyable to me.
Blue cheese in particular...
I guess something about the way the flavors contrast...
Not something I do often but have tried it a few times.
Lastly at Merchants...
A Cobb salad and a LFD Mysterio.
The cigar was nubbed and my plate was clean!

Sounds yummy! I wonder if the richness of the dressing and the eggs facilitated the pairing?

I think Snickers is the best for all sweet cigars, last time I ate it with 5 Vegas 'A' and it was delecious conection! :D
That's pretty sweet. I find that eating something really sweet diminishes the perception of sweetness of anything less sweet that I'm having with it. Likewise for tartness, bitterness. Not so much for saltiness for some reason.

The Mpls/St. Paul crew get together at least once a summer now for the Beef & Boli dinners. We reserve the patio at a 5 star steakhouse in NE Mpls, and smoke/eat/drink like fiends!

At the first one I went to I was hesitant at first, eating a super expensive amazing steak (Filet Mignon) and smoking at the same time. But you would all be amazed at how well aged Bolivars go with good steaks!

Good stuff!

I think we might have a picture of Loren and Cory doing this during the Padron Dinner! Hell, I think Loren has two or three cigars lit at the same time!

To me eating is it's own thing! Smoking and drinking are hand in hand, a lot of times I can't do one without the other! I've done all three at the same time and never really found any magic in it.
To each his own

Hmm, I may have to try that now. I have snacked while smoking...if I wasn't enamored by the cigar, but never a full meal...and I also love Negra Modelo.

Not often but I also enjoy the combo when I get the chance. A friend of mine is throwing his once annual bbq/beerbust this coming Saturday. I'll be smoking, eating, drinking and loving every minute of it. I find the richer more full bodied smokes go well with beer and bbq'd vittles. Esplendidos, Lanceros and RyJ Churchills are some of my favorite mealtime cigars.

Eating and smoking cigars seem like two separate events to me. I think doing the two together would be distracting. Sort of like trying to read a book while having sex. JMHO.

I usually don't mix the two. But a couple weeks back, as I was heading out for my lunch break with a Short Story, a couple of the supervisors invited me out to lunch with them. I went, figuring the best lunch is a free lunch, and off we went to a nice restaurant down by the water.

Sat down, lit up, and ordered a Sam Summer Ale and a plate of raw little necks. I figured with all the hot food everyone else was ordering, it would be a little while, and I'd have plenty of time for my smoke.

Well, I was wrong, and the food came real fast, and there was way too much left of a great smoke to put down. So, I kept smoking while I ate my lunch. And I'm glad I did.

I dont smoke and eat but it does not surprise me wilkey would make this thread. i remember when his reviews would make me hungry. He was always eating something.

Wilkey,
I think it was the creamyness that acuentuates the smoking experience. So it was the cheese and the dressing that did this. But the smoky bacom really helped bring it all together!

I just had to save this one!

I have found that sushi goes well with cigars, however I try never to eat while smoking.

I'm intrigued! What sushi do you like with your cigars? And do you drink sake along with it? If so, hot or cold?
