talking about sources..why not ?

how is it that just talking about sources is taboo yet cp has a page full of sources...

http://www.cigarpass.com/online_retailers.shtml

click on any of these and they all guarantee delivery to the "land of the free"

is not incongruent with this veiled notion that talking about sources is somehow "dangerous"
when, heck - just looking at the top of my page now a banner streams about some guy named "lou" who guarantees delviery worldwide...

with all the discussion about "letters" and "fines" - wouldnt we say it is also potentially irresponsible of CP to have these links...

obviously the honus lies on yourself...if ya cannot afford to pay the fine - dont do the proverbial crime...
but at the same time, if CP is going to have these sources listed - what is the harm in allowing for the free exchange and dialogue...

i mean heck CP lists these as their "reputable retailers" so why not open it up for us to talk about...

I get the logic but its flawed. Its like when I drive to work everyday I see a billboard that says “increase your penis size with enzite” and the billboard is by a Mobil station. By your logic Mobil is supporting and endorsing said sales of penis enlargement. When that statement is logically false. It’s simple advertising space that was for sale. The same applies for CP, Rod simply chooses reputable companies to do business with. So no, by allowing people to advertise doesn’t mean condoning the potential for people to break the law.

Why does this sound exactly like my 16 yr old daughter...

"Why can't I go out?"
"Because it's 10:30 right now, and curfew is in a half hour. Barely enough time for you to walk out the door and come right back."

"So. The curfew is stupid. Who made up a curfew anyways - a bunch of old guys?"

"Dear. It is what it is. The curfew is the law. If you're out past it, you're in violation of the law. No further discussion needed."

"Yeah. But I want to go out past curfew. Other people get to go our after curfew and don't get into trouble. Their parents don't make such a big deal out of it. You're a yuppie for telling me I can't! You're stupid! The law is stupid! You all suck!!!"

Someday I guess she'll get it... Or she'll hit 17 and it won't matter anymore... :D

Then again - the discussion about staying out all night starts...

A "yuppie" for making her follow the rules? LOL

Yeah - and I think you know me well enough, Shawn, to say I ain't the "yuppie" type! It hurt... It REALLY hurt...

Ok... All you smarties... I believe we challenged basel to provide insight to our deepest philosophical questions, not you guys... I believe he's much more in a position to do so...

...and I do believe Mobil supports and endorses Enzite sales. Think about it. It makes absolute basel induced sense. Geez - it's as plain as basel's argument about openly talking about sources!!!

If they have a billboard in their backyard they maintain, of course they do! It's a method of increasing their sale of premium fuels to middle aged males with ego boosts driven by larger Enzite created penis sizes buying high performance cars!

So how's the Beemer, Izods and Argyle socks treating ya George Leo Horace Giese III?

CP has members all over the world. Purchasing from those sources at the top of the page(s) for our members not in the USA isn't an issue.

Cuban cigars are illegal in the US and the owner of the board has asked folks living in the US to not discuss how to obtain them in the forums.

You should respect his wishes and that, as they say, is that.

B.B.S.

i understand the worldwide membership - but again - of the links ive clicked - only one of the sources outright hs a policy against shipping to the USA...

the rest make it pretty clear that they will ship to the USA - no questions asked...with a 100% delivery gurantee...
so again it is clear that these "sources" are clearly looking for the CP internet seal of approval and they are clearly marketing their prodcuts to the USA market...

all i am saying is that if CP itself is going to have a list like this of vendors who clearly have taken steps to try to entice us Americans to violate federal trade statures...why not open it up for discussion...

otherwise i would still submitt that it is incongruent - disingenious to post such a list of links without allow members to freely discuss their creditials or merits.

im not the one giving out a list of links of compaines who are willing to sell cc's to the USA - CP is..

so since CP opens the door...all i am asking is why we cant walk though and discuss the subject from here...

RULES ARE RULES BASELFISH...IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE... PRETTY SIMPLE.
CP HAS SURVIVED THIS LONG WITHOUT YOUR COMMENTARY.

 Why you sound like you have experience in this area?

See how out of it you are, Brandon... Izod is for golfer's since they were bought out by Van Heusen...

Nope - and I have never draped a sweater over my shoulders. And I don't have any friends named "Biff", "Tad" or "Buffy"...

Wellllll.... I DO have a friend named "Brandy"...

First off - if you're going to "submitt" anything, "disingenious" is actually spelled disingenuous. And the fact the list is posted on this site is not disingenuous because members cannot discuss "credetials" or merits of the various companies. "Incongruent" does not much fit the bill of describing your argument either - as a matter of fact, I would say it is far more nebulus in this discussion than "disingenious".

And I'm not sure of what "door" you speak. The fact that CP is open and you can post here, does not mean there is some kind of imaginary door of "all disucussion" opened because there is a list posted and advertisers advertising.

I am thinking you may have already surmised - that door leads directly to Pandora's Box... ;)

This is easy...

Cost to run CP: Not cheap

Solution to help fund CP: Sell banner ads at a very reasonable rate to only reputable retailers, both foreign and domestic

Cuban products in the US: Illegal

Cuban products abroad: Legal

Discussion of Cuban sources on CP: Mixed - legal for those in foreign countries, though not legal for US residents.

Resolution: Discussion of sources on CP prohibited for all users.

Conclusion: Best way to keep CP a safe place for all.

We do not promote the sale of contraband by any means. It just so happens the retailers listed on CP have offered to help fund the site, and in turn, they cater to our international user-base.

If you are offended by this, or simply do not understand the rationale, then you're more than welcome to join another cigar board.

Regards,
Rod

I like my hard on pills explanation better.

Wait...it's still so unclear...are you saying that it is OK to buy cubans in the US? WHat about if I was holding my computer above my head while riding a dolphin in international waters? What if I was sitting on a volcano on the international date line, and then I ordered the cigars and then slid to the left....surely I can not be prosecuted for something I did TOMORROW! What is cp so uncredulous about me making a point ablou t things that are not illeglal becaus it aint tomorow YET? rOD, or whodever you are if you DONT like it then bugger off.

LMAO scared him away and Neil and Bill did not even get to play yet. George it is scary you being a dictionary reading yuppie I saw your vacation pictures .

Then it's perfectly legal.....................You're a lawyer, you should know this.

Dad-gum-it!!! It appears Mr. Fish is done with us... :(
Hey George, amazing how the smell of fish draws you out  Good to see some clever banter again, stop hiding.

Once again someone steps up to prove my theory......you can't legislate, purchase or give away common sense. If you could we might be able to put together a Common Sense for Baselfish Pass.

I'm in for a fiver.

baselfish: I'm also new here, so who am I to bust in with my opinion.

However, after reading this I also took a look at the websites of some of the advertisors you mentioned.

Now, besides the fact they state that they will ship world-wide, including to the USA, I couldn't find anything that says they are shipping Habanos to the USA. So, for as far as Rod knows, it only concerns their other products (like accesoires and so) in this context.

The latter is quite legal, so there are no ''sources'' reveiled by this board. IMHO of course.

Hope this helps. :)
