Mr. Mac is a Good Guy Herf (2/9 or 10)

For those who’ve not yet been to Tobacco Road, the address is 3118 S. Cooper, Arlington, Tx 76015

OK Gary this means we're doing the Music deal withte hard drives. Mike I have a new phne so would you please show me how to trick/crack it? I was thinking about brinng this Kick Ass Taco Salad or some Bad Ass Black Bean Chili?

Are we BBQing again? If so, I can kick in some chicken. I know I can bring a peach amaretto cheesecake or two (even if I can't have any - stinkin' weightloss contest :( ) If some other kind of main course is desirable I can bring Hamburger Helper   . Just let me know guys.

Sounds like we have ourselfs a HERF!!!

So, what do we need as far as food goes, and what has already been spoken for? Are we cooking there, or does it need to be prepared at the casa de MX.

I can grill/cook/bake/broil/blacken, or burn just about anything!!!

So let me know what we need.

Tim

Okay gentlemen! Here is the Mickey Mouse roll call as far as I can tell - add to it or subtract if wrong:

1. Altercall
2. Tasman
3. Preembargo
4. Bargogirl
5. G&C88
6. dk_ace
7. Rebel Herfer
8. Mr. Mac
9. MX
10. Sept
11. Niko

#7 Rebel Herfer has offered up some kick ass taco salad or kick ass (he likes to inflict pain on those he loves, I guess) black bean chili.

#4 I have offered up some chicken for BBQing as well as 2 peach amaretto cheese cakes ]( I might also make a diet pie for those of us trying to be good little monkeys)

#9 MX is offering up whatever is needed (meat wise and cooking wise, I'm assuming??).

I am going to suggest 3 large side dishes (ex: baked beans, Cole slaw, corn, baked or mashed potatoes [don't forget the trimmings - i.e. gravy, sour cream, marg or butter], green beans or salad [remember dressings])

3 separate types of meat to BBQ (if that is the general desire) Enough to allow 1-2 pieces per individual (depending on type of meat - remember to get buns and ketchup, miracle whip, relish, mustard if Brats, dogs, saugage or hamburgers are involved!)

Soda or Ice Tea as well as ice. I'd say at least 6-7 2 liters
Soda requests:
1. Dr Pepper or any generic brand
2. Unsweetened Ice tea (I can brew some if desired)
3.
4.
5.
6.

2 more desserts

1 More item - paper plates, cups, plastic silverware and paper towels or napkins.

This is just a suggestion of items and amounts that in my opinion would suffice. Please give other suggestions that you would like to implement or take out from my ideas!

This is gonna be rockin' guys!!!

What time are you guys wanting to eat? That will affect what I bring.

D

I'm guessing we'll eat about 2. Here's the cooking situation:

TR has a charcoal grill outside. If we want to use it we need to bring the charcoal as well. I think it'll be fine to barbeque some stuff there. They also have a fridge we can use and a microwave downstairs (I believe). I can bring whatever. If I need to bring meat I can. If I need to make desert I can. If I need to bring the plates and stuff I'll do that. I'll just fill in what's left.

Since I am coming from quite a ways off I will take care of the plates, cups, paper towels, and all utensils. I will probably be there around 12.

Jay,
I can bring the plates and cups and stuff because it is hard trying to cook it and then the long ride.

I can bring some deserts and beer or soda just let me know?

Guns, why don't you get the paper and plastic goods.

Dean, why don't you bring a desert and sodas. If ya'll want beer, bring it your dang self! Everyone drinks different swill anyway.

I will bring the brats and buns again. This will be a good time!

Put me down for a brisket. I will cook it here and bring to the Herf. Are we going to fire up the Grill, it would be useful to reheat the brisket, after I get it there.

Tim

That'll be thing #1 for me. I'll bring the charcoal.

Better check with Pre, I think there is charcoal left over from lastime. I brought a big a*s bag last time.

Should I bring the Taco Salad or Chili or something else like all the fixins for burgers?

edited to add question.

Hmmm, I don't know Jeff. I love Chili, but I want to be able to taste my cigars. I'd bring the taco salad if the "bad-ass" means it'll give the old man the runs.

Well guys, it looks as though circumstances are taking me out if the D/FW area for an indefinate period of time. I will be leaving tomorrow morning, early. Not sure when I will make it back up to the D/FW area. I'll be down in the Austin area for a while. D/FW guys... what else can be said accept thank you for extending yourselves to me in a manner that I can only hope to one day return. You guys are just great, and I appreciate everything.

Oh... I'll still be on CP... so no farewells or anything... ;)

Enjoy the HERF. I'm sure it will be another great one!
