So, long story short, I'm laid up for the next few weeks on a stinkin' leg injury. I got it in a fight, pulling a 6 foot Baby Huey out through his bedroom window. Needless to say, I'm pretty pissed off. My left lower leg was braced against a stationary object, and I reached over to my left to pull the upstanding citizen out, and my body shifted to the left, along with my knee and upper thigh. My lower calf and leg below the knee stayed stationary, and I heard about three pops, and my knee started filling up with fluid. It swelled up, and I was able to detain the guy and put him in my unit, but after that I had a hard time walking.

Doctor says I may have torn my LCL (?) or something involving a miniscus. I don't know what they are, but from what I understand, I may be out for a couple weeks with it...thus me being pissed off at home. And so now, my biggest gripe is not being able to go work out, and I'm icing the stupid thing. It sure feels stupid to be at home with sand in my vagina.

I suppose I have a little extra time to smoke a cigar now and then, but I'd much rather be working and being productive than sitting here like a f**ckin' bum at home. /endrant.

Anyone have any similar injuries? From what my Sergeant told me, he says this is a common "skiiing" injury. Anyone have surgery for a torn LCL or miniscus?

Search is your friend..............Google that is!

WebMD

Lateral Collateral Ligament: one of the tendons that keeps you knee from being rubber

Meniscus Disc: The padding between your upper leg and lower leg

Sit, rest, smoke a cigar.......

Are you not going to Wavescrashing now?

That sucks, bro. On the bright side, you can sit and enjoy a cigar, since there's nothing on daytime TV. You can always take Gary's advice and get one of those packs he's advertising.

Thanks bro! I am still comin' to Mike's, and I may be bringin' a posse with me!

Hey man sorry to hear about the injury. All joking aside, take it easy. Knees are funny things and injuries stay with you for a while.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery

Brandon

Enjoy your time off while you can, and smoke some cigars. :)

Here's to a speedy recovery!

I heard that there was a shortage of jelly filled doughnuts and you jumped over the counter to get the last one and hurt your knee.
Tell the truth man!
:sign:

Hang in there

I tore my ACL and some miniscus when I was younger. My advice to you is to get it repaired now while you're young. It's a pretty lengthy recovery and would be worse the longer you put it off. With you having a job where you need all the strength you have at times, you'll need strong knees down the road. Hope you get better soon.

Wow, that really does suck! At least you have a good story to tell - not like: I was doing a training run and came off a curb too hard and my f%*#ing knee disintegrated on the impact because I am too old to run long distances any more.

Yeah, at least you have a good story! Take care of it and follow your doctor's advice.

Keep your spirits up. Will keep ya in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Shake it off and get back to work. I thought you were a hard ass, not a momma's boy.

Seriously bro, sorry to hear about your injury. Hopefully you won't be out of action long, but hey, now you got time to sit and smoke a couple of A's and relax.

This is sound advice. Get it repaired right and give it the time it needs to heal properly. If you don't, it will give you trouble down the road.

I know staying at home sucks, but better now than later. Smoke a good one and get well.

Tore my MCL & Meniscus in left knee and Meniscus only in right knee. If your knee "catches" when you walk or turn a certain direction, I'm sorry but you'll more than likely need to have arthroscopic surgery. My right knee it took 2 weeks till I could walk w/o crutches. My left knee I walked 2days after but it also took longer to heal properly. Oh and the worst part of it all is if they need to draw fluid from your knee. Talk about a big ass needle!

I wish you the best and please research for the best doctor you can get.

Jon, we're all family here. You can tell us the truth. You bit too hard on the Boston Creme donut. Some of the filling shot out the back onto the floor. You slipped on it and fell. It's cool. Maybe if you had some fancy new New Balance sneakers, you would have had better traction.

Get well soon, Jon. And catch up on the smoking!
