Cell phone pictures aren't the best but they tell the story.
I work Security at a Casino and am currently in a class to become a Redman Defensive Tactic Instructor. As part of the class we get to be OC sprayed after jogging in place for a minute then doing 10 push ups. After being sprayed we have to run over to another area engage a BG take him down and get him into a cuffing position. I found out very quickly OC spray affects me to the extreme. I can take a lot of physical pain to my body but I'm a COMPLETE wuss when it comes to my eyes. I think some of the OC got behind my eye....during decon the pain was intensifying. I had difficulty breathing and felt like I was dying. I was blowin snot rockets a mile long while coughing and gagging.
The best way I can describe it is: Have you ever gotten shampoo in your eyes and your like damn! that stings...for me it was that times 10 then getting punched in the face with a hot iron while someone lights your face on fire...for about 5-8 minutes that seem like an eternity.
Other people in the class took it a lot better then me including one guy who only deaconed for a few minutes and was fine.
First Defense (http://www.copquest.com/42-1000.htm) is what was used on me.
Needless to say if you know someone who does not want to carry a firearm for personal protection. OC spray would be a helpful tool for their self defense.
