worried about beetles

So I ordered some cigars to get shipped over here to qatar. After reading all this stuff about beetles im kinda worried having them shipped to the desert. Is there any things I should do once I recieve them?

Just make sure that you check out the package thoroughly to make sure there are no holes in the cigars or any dust in the packaging. IF you have any other cigars, I would try to be sure to quarantine the new cigars from the ones that you have. As you will find out with a bit of searching, there are also folks that like to freeze all of their new purchases to kill off any larvae or eggs that may be in the cigars. Depending on how cold your freezer is, you may need to leave them frozen for quite some time.

Those are just a few ideas.. another one would be to just smoke em down quick before it became a problem. I am sure that we have all smoked a beetle egg or two! :laugh:

I have had quite a few shipped to the desert, none so far have had them.. at least that I know of. Like the post above says, we have all probably smoked an egg or two. :thumbs:

Yep.

Smoke them and smoke them fast. Maybe two at a time to really enjoy them

When I double smoke 'em for situations like this, I like to pair a mild smoke with a more full bodied smoke. This works best when you actually puff on them at the same time, makes a nice smooth creamy flavor... Had one combination smoke as I call em one time, it was absolutely perfect! The flavor reminded me of.. well.. uhm.. I couldn't quite place the flavor, but the closest I could come to describing it would be Granola Smoothie! :sign:

Haha im not gonna smoke them too fast. Once i get thm back to my barracks theyll have A/C. I may freeze them first though.

If you freeze, you should have no problems after. People don't give credit to how tough cigars really are. I hardly look at my cooler or humidor anymore.
